  I've done some more research. I find that now the police can cause the reason by which they enter your home without a warrant. In Philly at least, the police can search you on the street without a reason. I am therefore amending my 4th amendment list.
  
  Places to avoid if you wish to retain 4th amendment protections:
  
  Your home
  Anywhere other than your home

  Random pat-downs are already happening in Philadelphia. I guess I should add "walking" to my list of transportation means to avoid.

  4th Amendment and Travel

  So let me see if I understand. The 4th amendment still applies while traveling, except when using one of the following means:
  
  Aircraft
  Bus
  Train
  Subway
  Ship
  Car
  
  If you whiners don't want to be harassed, just avoid these.

  That guy was BSing you. It is actually nearly impossible to steal wi-fi this way. Otherwise, we wouldn't be able to use IP addresses to uniquely identify people. It's much easier to just keep the default router settings.
