Even a city shouldn't be allowed to trademark a name. You can find the same name used by multiple cities and/or towns across the U.S.. I'm sure that applies everywhere.
"and kill off niche channels, which the industry argued simply couldn't survive outside of the bundle."
If nobody wants these channels, why do they need to exist? Making me pay for channels I don't want or watch is basically corporate welfare. My cable package has 220 channels. At most, I watch 10. If they went a la carte, I'd probably buy 8.
Every student should fill out a form for every meal they eat at a campus dinning room (unless they eat alone). Every time students meet to study, play games or just hang out, a form should be submitted. Overwhelm the school with paperwork. Let them reap the rewards for their stupidity.
In most cases, the prices are inflated to get as much money as possible from the insurance companies. I frequently see my insurance company pay 20 to 30 percent of the billed price of a drug and not get any pushback from the pharmacy.
Am I the only one bothered by the fact that there is a multi-billion dollar industry centered around paying personal income taxes? Taxes should be so simple that anyone can do their own in no more than a couple minutes. I would like a flat percentage. No deductions or credits. The money is taken out by your employer(s) with no need to file anything.
"Black Muslims" (notice that it should be capitalized) was the name of an African-American religious movement in the United States that split in the late 1970s into the American Society of Muslims and the Nation of Islam. Assuming that she doesn't follow the changes of every religious group out there then she may not know that the group no longer exists. Many of the news stories I have seen also refer to the group as Black Muslims.
If sites can be fined for hosting copyrighted material, why can't false accusations be fined as well? If a copyright holder asks for $3 million in damages from a site and the accusations are false then the site should get the $3 million from the copyright holder. That would seriously cut back on the practice of "accuse enough people and eventually I'll get a payout".
This just confirms that I was right to drop AT&T a few years ago. I had AT&T internet, land line and 4 cell phones. My internet is now over 10 times faster. My land line is now less than $50 a year. My cell phones now get a signal at my house without having to go upstairs.
Maybe in the UK but not here. Both of my sons are Eagles. The U.S. military thinks enough of the Eagle that my son that is serving in the Navy received two promotions as soon as he graduated boot camp. This was only because of his Eagle. People that had 4 years of high school ROTC only received one.
My daughter was in the Boy Scouts of America 10 years ago. She was in the Venture program. If you had bothered to actually read the post, you would understand the difference.
I'll see if I can get you to understand. The Boy Scouts of America has, for decades, had several programs. The first two, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts have been boys only since inception. Venturing, Sea Scouts and Explorers have been coed since at least the 1970's (when I was in high school). In 2008, we switched my daughter's Girl Scout troop to a Venture crew because the Girl Scouts were so hard to work with. As a scout leader. I worked with female Explorers and Venturers for at least 10 years before that and girls were not new to these programs. What BSA announced last year is that Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts are going coed as well. This just means that all Boy Scouts of America programs are now coed. Considering that Scouting in most of the world is coed, this is just them catching up with the rest of the world.
A straight party ticket shouldn't be allowed. You should have to vote for each candidate separately. Party affiliation and incumbent should not be shown either. If you don't know enough about the candidates to know who you are going to vote for before you enter then you shouldn't be voting. The only thing worse than a non voter is an uneducated voter.

People don't have to pay for YouTube. Even so, if the channel can't exist on its own then it shouldn't exist.
