"an excellent point. even when the exec of a major studio has a demographic in their own home telling them their likes/dislikes, things they want etc they dont listen."

Or, he could just ask on Twitter if anyone knows of a good backpack that would handle x, y, and z for less than $xxx on Twitter and continue his daily routine, receiving several good suggestions along the way.
According to your example, anyone can open an account, post a question and have it answered by the mind meld that is Twitter.
Won't the only people to really see the question be your followers? How do you get followers? Posting a lot of good stuff? That seems to take a of time as well.
Sure it is easy to find, but an article about an online entity should at least be able to point you to that entity.
This store reminded me of Ameoba Music (amoeba.com)in LA. I don't know of there online experience, but in-store is cool. Astor Place in NYC has a lot of 2nd hand stores. I used to buy a lot there when I lived in NYC (~5yrs ago). The best was Mondo Kims (MondoKims.com).
I was having a discussion recently with someone about the best language to learn.
I was for Chinese (probably Mandarin). China's market's are opening and the nation as a whole will become a huge consumer. English is expected in many circumstances such as international government, aviation, high level business. However, all Chinese people do not speak english. Why would you want to cut your self off from that market.
But, it would all depend on your goals in life. Going into medical? Latin may help? Latin American business? Western Europe business? It all depends.
Currently, my 6 year old is starting to learn Spanish. Living in Southern California, it is much more relevant to him.
Gnarls Barkley picked up on the buzz created by Danger Mouse (half of Gnarls) with his "Grey" album. The Grey album takes Jay-Z lyrics from the Black Album and lays them over samples from the Beatle's White Album. The resulting mashup was highly popular, but EMI tried to stop it because they "own" the White Album. They failed and it can be found all over the internet.
I think Prince came up with a good idea and Goldstein's is better!
I not very familiar with the print publications in L.A. even though I have lived here 2 years. I read some of the RSS feeds from the LA Times, but rarely touch the paper itself. Thinking of New York City where I have lived/worked for 15 years, I can think of a few papers that could probably pull this off quite well. The Village Voice was my first thought.
I was just thinking how I can not believe this stuff is still happening. Then I realized that I have the backup tapes for my company in my unlocked car. There are over 10,000 credit card numbers on one of those tapes.
