The news isn't being shut off though. All of the sources are still out there but won't be aggregated into one central location. Nothing is stopping people from visitng the spanish news sites one by one to read the news. There is no censorship because no information is being taken away.
A felony! Really?!?! I feel like a felony doesn't mean what it used to mean. When recording a police officer, something perfectly legal in any sane state, ruins your life there is something massivly wrong. Maybe they should focus more on fixing their budgets and not electing corrupt politicians instead of further making a mockery of Illinois.
Two years is still a light sentence for someone who is as bent on harming others as Ryan is. Hate to see what happens in two years when he is released.
I actually thought the update was wonderful and made it easier to use. I still like BeyondPod for podcasts and haven't found any others that are as user friendly.
What's interesting is that what he has described is not at all unusual when dealing with a broadband provider. Everything is by the book and consistent across every provider. Good on this guy for trying to do something about it as there isn't anyone who is okay with this, but instead beaten into submission.
What's scary is that they might actually believe their press release is the truth. Sometimes it's hard to see outside the world you have insulated yourself into.
That is exactly why I keep coming back here. I can read the same old news on a hundred different sites. What I get here is more nuanced, interesting, and informative. I get a wider view of what's going on and why. This post is just another example of why a blog gives me better journalism than most major news sites.
What's horrifying is that plenty of people are interested in 60 minutes. My parents and grandparents generation still turn to this show for news every week.
That's what struck me too. Whoever wrote this sees technology as nothing more than modern day magic. They don't understand it but somehow it works. POOF Magic!
I never cared for the statistic of "Number of Channels offered" because it doesn't account for the quality of those channels. How many are just pure infomercial channels and how many live up to their name? History channel showing ancient aliens?? TLC showing honey boo boo? Not much learning goin on there. I have also long held that TNT should be re-labled the law and order rerun channel. All those stations and nothing worth watching.
I also really enjoy listening to Penn's Sunday School and Matt & Mattingly's Ice Cream Social. Both fall under the entertainment category. They are great at making me laugh and generally have interesting stories.
Well don't tell them you developed the idea at work. Also like Keith Alexander you "do it on your own time" leave and then a month later launch the idea.
To think that I would never known or cared about Max mosley before these lawsuits and yet here I am reading about him again. If he really wanted these forgotten he would shut up and let the internet do what it does best, move on to the next thing.
