If it were left up to the most states, Except Tax 'em until they bleed states like California, New York, Michigan, and New Jersey it would be full speed ahead. But we have restrictions put on us by the likes of Pelosi, Harry Reid, protectionist Unions, Department of Commerce, EPA, Immigration and Naturalization Service. Those great Indian engineers want to come to the States, and Companies want to hire them but they can't instead the Democrats stone wall the whole issue so we have a steady stream of hard working illegal's who because of all of the above are open for exploitation by both employers and scumbag lawyers who make a living off of this whole issue.

Re: I think this group of technologically literate
You sir are a weenie, I am a ham radio operator and am decidedly Technologically and RF literate. collectively we Amateur Radio Op's we have had 100 years of experience with RF. Indeed before we learned such things circa 1930 when vacuum transmitting tubes started into use and broad frequency spark gap transmitters went out of use radio operators started to get strange fevers in their ham shacks. Which turned out to be caused by RF from poorly shielded feed lines heating their bodies up. The result of this discovery are diathermy machines that are used in physical therapy, and later microwave ovens. We have been using Frequencies in the range used by Wifi, and cellphones for most of 60 years, and at much, much higher power levels in some causes up to a Kilowatt if used for moon bounce and meteor scatter QSO's. In all of these years we have had no trouble with the the problems sited by the Nut case we are talking about here. Indeed there have been no brain tumors or any other problems caused by RF in the frequency ranges at the power levels used in cell phones and Wifi. At the higher power levels we do take precautions. As for sensitivity to these frequencies no one has reported anything like this and believe me if this was the case the word would have gone out years ago. These eco-crap studies trying to prove low powered transmissions from WiFi networks and cellphone have never studied the brains of the one population that has been using these frequencies the longest, and those studies that have done so have seen power levels such as used by the cellphones and Wifi devices have not been a problem. By the way have you heard of the study that shows that cell phone use may somehow slowdown or could even prevent Alzheimer's. Go here: http://www.nbcdfw.com/news/health/Cell-Phone-Use-May-Help-Prevent-Alzheimers-80998152.html
You don't suppose Arthur Firstenberg listens to The Subgenius Hour of Slack and he thinks the "pinks" who, as we all, know front the Space aliens, and "The Conspiracy" are using WiFi and cellphones to control his mind.
P.S. I have listened to the Hour of Slack on and off since the early 1980's and I am here to tell you it is! the most bizarrely strange and funny radio show ever!!!! Not only that but the off the wall bands this show has turned me on to such as "The Swinging Love Corpses" They now podcast so If you want to sample the strange go here; http://www.subgenius.com/ts/hos.html at the very least it will help you understand loonies like Arthur.
ah yes this law suit brought to you by the author of the best selling book, 50 Ways to Get Admitted Into a Hospital and Still Get a Regular Tray. So the loon doesn't pay his rent, or is so obnoxious the landlord gives him the heave-hoe. He so disruptive in the homeless shelters he is kicked out there as well. These are the people they used to ship off to Mental health domiciles where they could get the three hots and a cot they really wanted, the drugs where bad but at least they where free, Oh wow man. Thanks ACLU. ;) Now the poor guy has to blame WiFi and Cellphones to get the food and shelter he wants, because he is an eco freak as well as a Wifi loon the car he is trying to live in to to small for him the stretch out in so he is getting back pains. Oh The Humanity"!
Speaking as a someone who has been a musician for over 45 years Lars Eric Mattsson, bossman at Lion, is an idiot. OK so he will not sign any new acts, har-de-har-har. These acts will go somewhere else to market their product. I am thinking of a young man by the name of Adam Young. Living in the basement of his parent's house working at a local Coke-Cola warehouse during the day and because he suffers from insomnia he composed music at night in his home studio. He decided to post one of his songs on iTunes. His musical efforts are published with the name of Owl City. FireFlies quickly became one of the top downloads on iTunes. It is a very tasty synpop tune, I particulary like his lyrical phrasing. He followed this up with others, He now has three CD's out and couple of singles. One of the singles Strawberry Avalanche is Beguiling. Artists no longer need recording companies putting them into the status of a bonded servant to get their works out into the public. Adam Young started with iTunes he has now signed with a Universal Republic studio's he came to this decision already with two independent CD releases under his belt so he should have been able to dicate much of the terms of this agreement. More and more of this sort of thing is happening instead of artists going to a studio and hoping for a contract, the studio has to come to the artist with the hopes of signing them. This is so sweet!
I would have not have learned of this blog except for Climategate. So I have to thank the unknown Russian hacker turning me on to this place, and the RSS feed so I can easily follow. I am graduate research archivist, and technological historian, in a way you can think of me as a human search engine. What truly excites me we are, at last, starting to see the vast impact on society of the internet. Climategate is an excellent example. No longer are there gate keepers on information. Look at the impact the unknown hacker had on Copenhagen. Blogs, Podcasts, search engines, and news feeds are bypassing the old information media If you try to conceal the truth you will be found out. What is so gratifying is to listen to the old guard information brokers bitch, moan, accuse, dismiss, make excuses. and otherwise sputter in indignation as their world collapses around them. Mike you are contributing to this demise, keep up the good battle we will win in the end.
If you will recall 16+ years ago there was a similar trick when the first digital cars came out. the On Board Dignostics One system OBDI was different for each manufacture, Ford's firm ware was different from GM, from Toyota, and Nissan. So you had to have a special code reader for each make. The problem was these Car companies would not let anyone get the codes for their OBDI systems. So in order to fix them you had to go to the dealer. This had the effect of freezing out the non-factory service centers from working on these cars. Washington DC got smart amd mandated that all diagnotic firmware be the same thus came OBDII. With OBDII the same access computer could work with all brands. Now I see the various companies have developed a way around this regulation, what's next?
I have been using Google since it's first week on line. It's news feed is one my favorite features. I can set an alert and follow numerous sources of a particular issue. The Global warming scam is just one example. When you see what is not being reported by our main stream media on just this issue you can see way the MSM has lost it's credibility. It isn't so much bitching about biting the hand that feeds them as people using Google to learn just how bad political hacks the MSM has become.
I have been a avid fan of SciFi for over 45 years. I have read and own all of LeGuin's books, Don't worry Madam LeGuin I did purchase all of them. I find them to be a struggle to read and once read you have no desire to read them again. I don't like to be beat over the head with her Berklyite political views. In my opinion in the realm of fantasy SciFi she has been eclipsed by Peirs Anthony, and David Eddings ( Mr. Eddings We will all miss you, Via Con Deos)to name just a couple. Judging by her tempestuous relationship with anyone who tries to adapt Her books to the picture screen it is not surprising she comes across as the personification of the Wicked Witch of The North. The fact her e-books and audio-books are all tracked on bit-torrent trackers must drive her batty. According to what I have read she is a real piece of humanity when she is boozed up.
I presently have 4 T Bytes of music and video's. This represents several decades of collecting. iTunes is irrelevant to me. I am a musician so I understand the business from the performers side. I do not and will not purchase any music from artists that are in what amounts to bonded servitude to a recording company. Instead I look for musicians that market their own stuff on the net. By doing this I know the money I am spending is going directly the artists. It is a revelation, and very refreshing the diversity and quality of these independent acts. More and more people are recognizing this. As the music consumer learns about this whole other universe they are lost to the main stream. These large recording companies who grew into the mastodons they presently are during the CD boom are going to presently learn they are no longer in control. iTune's was the camel's nose into the tent, and the other music services followed them in. Soon it will be these services that will start telling the minions of the RIAA the whichness of Why.
Well until now I have never heard of this "poet" Zukofsky. His son reminds me of the 'tard's at The L Ron Hubble Zeno's corporation for sponging money off of idiots. It is going to be funny the first time this butt munch gets laughed out of court. Best thing to do here is to have somebody seed his entire works on a bit torrent site just to see the son go ballistic.
