I think that the late Supreme Court Chief Justice Earl Warren was painted with the same brush, but proved that he was a person on honor and integrity, and was perhaps the greatest SCOTUS Chief Justice ever.
There is a simple solution for this. When you aren't on toll roads, place your transponder in one of those metallic bags that shield it from scanning, or two if you are really paranoid. It will block the scan and let you stay anonymous!
If they are smart, these sites won't stream the match, and then they will sue the pants off of HBO and Showtime for prior restraint, or whatever is appropriate to show these assholes that they don't own the world! I think that about $100 million USD would be appropriate!
Applied Materials is (hopefully) earning $$ on a patent granted 9 years ago to me as sole inventor (but owned by my employer - Brooks Automation at the time). I got a bonus of $500 USD from Brooks when I filed the patent. Unfortunately by the time it was granted, I no longer worked for the company so I didn't get the extra $500 for that... Life + 70 for copyright? How bogus! Life + 14? Ok, that may help the kids or grandkids through college. Not entirely unreasonable.
If this "officer" isn't summarily dismissed from the service then the head of the service should be fired, immediately! This simply unacceptable behavior by a federal officer. "Investigate" my rear end! It will likely be whitewashed and at worst this dickhead will get a short, paid vacation before sent out into the public to terrorize other citizens. Yes, terrorize is the correct term - this person IS a terrorist!
I don't think I'll stay at a Motel 6 ever again. Wait, I don't stay there now! They may be cheap, but they are noxious, at least in my little experience with them. I'd rather pay a bit more and stay at a reasonable hotel/motel, or sleep in my car at a rest stop if necessary!
I think Homer Simpson owns the copyright to the term Doh! So does that mean I have to pay him a royalty every time I use it in public, something like performance rights payments?
Terrorists breathe air in order to live. I suppose that means we should all stop breathing air, because of the terrorists?! We all eat food, so do the terrorists. Should we stop growing food in order to deny them sustenance? Come on folks, let's stop cutting off our heads to spite our noses!
What makes you think that United or Boeing would have paid him one iota of attention if he had contacted them about this ex-post-facto (after the fact)? I agree with Tim G. United should apologize, give him a bug bounty, about 10M frequent flyer miles, and Boeing should hire him to pentest their systems. The TSA and FBI should give him an apology and his gear back - hopefully undamaged. If damaged, they should replace it gratis for him, as well as giving him back the damaged gear so he has a prayer of pulling his data off of the systems.
I used to fly United all the time. Now, I avoid them if at all possible in favor of Southwest.
I am an Illinois resident, and Kirk is a self-serving pinhead! He doesn't care about his constituents or protecting people in the sex industries. He is a disgrace, and with help we will vote him out of a job in the next Senatorial election!
I'd like to know who is in charge of the US government's department of hypocrisy department. They must be the person with the biggest paycheck around! Too bad Manning wasn't a general, otherwise (s)he would be sitting on a beach sipping pina coladas right now, instead of spending the next 35 years in stir!
Yeah, like that is about to happen, removing content across the globe. I'd like to see Google shut down all of its services for 2 weeks to the countries that try to force it to comply with stupid shit, and see just how fast these assholes capitulate, realizing that they are WAAAAY over their heads and have no clue how the Internet works!
Oh, this sounds like a challenge! Let's all get together and annoy the pants off this asshole! Also, since most of us live in a country that is not his, let's tell him to suck eggs!
Let copyright last for the lifetime of the artist. Then, it goes into the public domain. We should not have to subsidize the labels and do-nothing relatives of the artist. Let them reap the rewards while they live. After that, what do they care?
Yeah. This is granting multinational corporations the right to trade our hard earned $$ for their profits! And we have zero say in the process. Heck, we don't even have to buy anything, other than medicine, energy, water, food, ... IE, if we want to continue living, we will have to pay these billionaires an ever bigger portion of the few pence we earn, and to heck with feeding or educating our kids, but then, that is probably their intent.
