While I have serious doubts that the TSA is smart enough or competent enough to play the high level game you're suggesting, I agree about not completely removing the backscatters. If someone is targeted as a suspicious person and moved off to a separate room for interrogation, having them step into one of these scanners would be a preferable solution for all parties.
Yep. He absolutely can copy his questions. As long as he absolutely accepts that students will inevitably figure this out and there's nothing he can do about it.
Aww, I misread "strategic" as "Statistics" and thought - at first - that he used the power of data trends to identify the probability that 1/3 of his students statistically must have cheated in order to get the outcome he observed.
To be fair, the Internet makes a big deal about everything, all the time, what with containing Petabytes-worth of data and all. It's sort of the way the place works. He may as well be saying the Ocean is making a big deal about a wave.
Hell, why move your scenario to a different form of transport? Someone in a previous TSA article mentioned detonating at bomb in the security line of the airport. It would be perfect - all this retarded scanning holding things up, a busy day, crowded lines, nobody expecting a thing because who in their right mind would expect it while surrounded by security...
So yeah. This whole effort is pointless and stupid. If anything, the TSA is putting us all in *greater* risk.
See this is why self-driving cars need to be perfected. It would solve all these problems without dumb ideas like phones that turn off somehow when you're moving.
Oddly, it appears that the Tribune Company is pulling down this video every time it appears on YouTube.
The irony here is that this would have been reported and forgotten about long before the current pat-down issues if it had been allowed to stay up. But because they insisted on taking it down every time, they inadvertently made the video look current, provide fuel for an already bad PR nightmare.
Even on the official TSA website they feel the need to blur out the face. In fact I've never seen an example image from one of these machines that *didn't* have a blurred out face. So I'm calling bullshit on your claim that you can't identify who is in a given image.
Just you wait - the second a celebrity elects to go through, his/her junk is going to be all over the web.
And can I see you text messages in that case? I mean, you have nothing to hide, and I'm really curious who you talk to on a regular basis and what their names are and where they live and also where you live and what your phone number is. I mean...as long as you have nothing to hide.
That's not useful either, though! I know about a year or two years ago I went through one of those scanners, and it seemed like no big deal. You just stand there for a second and you move on.
It's not exactly like anyone there is going to bother explaining anything whatsoever about how it's actually imaging you.
