It looks like a vast majority of the pirated games fall into categories that are well known for their online social play. Game developers would be wise to give away the games and charge for the online interaction. Duh.
It's a good thing that whatever US firm is chosen will use equipment sourced, manufactured, and assembled in the US. None of that stuff will come from or occur in China. Am I right or am I right?

My guess is there are probably plenty of people in corporate and government offices that could be reported for this kind of thing. Report them. You'd be surprised how quickly this law would be repealed when a politician or major corporation no longer has access to the internet.
It's been said before in the comments on TechDirt, but in order for the collective police organizations to earn the respect of the citizenry, they need to start punishing and ostracizing the "bad apples." Instead, they cover, protect, and generally do nothing to fix the systemic problems.

How about a column on Pirate Bay that shows whether the developer is an asshole or not. Then if they are cool you can go and actually buy the game. If they are an asshole, you can go ahead and pirate the hell out of it and not feel bad.
Reasonable mandatory licensing would be a nice first step that would curb about 50% of the craziness happening out there. Next up: Suits over what "reasonable" means!
