Haven't had a TV in about two years due to the same issues listed here. Too many crapomercials, too many ads, niche channels, too much money.
Some folks at the office freak out when I say I don't have a TV, then they ask me how I know about all the stuff we talk about with current shows and such.
Personally online books (not Kindle book rental thank you very much.), google news, webcomics, MMORPG's, Hulu, and the occasional DVD are all I need.
Hulu has shown me that I can stand commercials much better when they have a count down timer.
So all they need to do is compile a text format of all the phone books in the United States, filter out duplicates and present it as the limiting list. There's a flying Squirrel here who has a comment on this method of 'protection.' H doesn't seem very hopeful....
Hmph, Google should have left them off till PRS paid them! Heck I would have dropped the songs from google searches too. Let them sell while invisible.
Only problem is that to do it in nice big attention grabbing pictures like it is traditionally done to advertise the movie, the papers would have to lift a pic of movie from the production itself. Making them Pirates.
Just like Youtube when it shamelessly stole that movie trailer advertising that dis-knee movie, that was put out for free, as advertising.
The internet won't kill papers, the RIAA will when they send over all those gaffers and painters out of work due to online and newspaper theft!
"all newspaper comments are dumb and should be done away with."
Aghast sir! I am simply Aghast that someone classifying my comments on the modern herbal miracle that will make your manhood leave her weeping in joy on the floor as 'Dumb' or anything less that "TOTAL FACTUAL SERIOUS TRUTH, AS HONEST AS YOU WILL BE LONG!!!!!!"
This is truly a dark age of ignorance, and intellectual blight, and I bid you good day!

You mean they would ask why their advertising did not work on these people. It's not like Hollywood cares about content, except as a legal concept.
