To think that France was once proud of its knowledge, intellectualism and aesthetic abilities. And now it wishes to erase those achievements with a claim of privilege to be forgotten. Possibly prior to the stone age.
Perhaps the world's DNS servers should grant an exemption from being listed to all the IP addresses in France.
It is easy to blame encryption. It involves a strange branch of mathematics that few have any comprehension of. Given that some 3/4 of the population cannot perform a percentage without assistance, it is no surprise that encryption can easily be made a villain by those who fear and despise math.
GB is in a race with Italy to destroy truth and science. While Italy did recently imprison geologists for failing to predict an earthquake, they were eventually released. GB has yet to actually carry out their threats.
It is currently a tossup to see which nation will commit the most self-harm -- either directly or through suppression of thought. Brain drain strikes again.
How many likes can be counted in the following brief exchange?
Scott Pelley: There is no surveillance without court order?
James Comey: By the FBI? No. We don’t do electronic surveillance without a court order.
Scott Pelley: You know that some people are going to roll their eyes when they hear that?
James Comey: Yeah, but we cannot read your emails or listen to your calls without going to a federal judge, making a showing of probable cause that you are a terrorist, an agent of a foreign power, or a serious criminal of some sort, and get permission for a limited period of time to intercept those communications. It is an extremely burdensome process. And I like it that way.
The NY Times was once a reliable paper. But has now developed a significant history of creating news. Just one murderous example was the stories made up about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. How many people died as a result of those canards?
What makes you think that is a fantasy? Or that it will take thousands or even hundreds of years. Or that people in the future won't have their own idiocy that will eventually be looked back on as witch-hunting?
They may be compelled by employer/employee contract. Though it is certainly possible that Apple may see fit not to enforce the contract. That leads to an interesting question of whether of not the Government can require Apple to sue for all possible remedies to be had in such contracts
It would be curious to see the response of the US government if Apple were to pick up and move to another nation. I have no doubt that many would by happy to be the new home base of this company. The harassment over a password that the FBI changed, and then lost is incredible.
Don't forget the air as a vehicle for slaughter. The rarefaction and compression of the atmosphere carries and delivers an energy load sufficient to maim and kill.
Convenient to be able to declare war without declaring war. Just is not so. The Congress and the President can pretend to have a war, and indeed may have a defacto one. But not a legal one.
Our government commits an enormous number of acts, but that does not make them legal.
Re: Re: Re: Re: If you want knee-jerk reactions you need a more recent attack
What is the point to your babbling?
Do you truly believe that our government is any one's friend? That Martin Luther King Malcom X and others did not have very thick FBI records. That left to its own devices, this beneficent government of ours would have provided total freedom for all were it not for the encryption capable cell phones that flooded the "rich white dude" market. Too bad they hadn't been invented yet.
You don't seem to have any coherence in your statements.
I can only assume that the legislators and prosecutors in Rhode Island either do not have enough to do, or they want an excuse to hire more subordinates.
There is no magic on the web. An insult make there is no different than one made upon the street except for duration of the insult or how wide spread it becomes, which is not necessarily to a greater audience, and likely of short lifespan than any such embarrassment made in print.
I guess that initial weighing and periodic reweighing is just too much trouble when you are about to put a man on trial for the most or all of the rest of his life. After all the DEA said he was guitly, therefore he is guilty.
The lab tech in new Jersey sink tested 7000 specimens. Just how much will it take to review these cases? Then there were the Tx copys who called 600lbs of sheet rock by the name cocaine. What is in a name you say? A life in JAIL.
Re: Re: If you want knee-jerk reactions you need a more recent attack
Including 9/11, the odds of being killed by a cop are about 3-5 times that terrorist murder. Without 9/11 the odds of being killed by a cop vs being killed by a terrorist probably jump by showhere on on the order of a thousand.

Everybody has an occasional mental fugue in which they are incapable of interpreting what some else is saying. Anonymous comward 15Mar19 9:16 is having his.
But that does not justify "you sound like typical priviliged white dud."
Think about what @libbodorg said, apologize, and move on.
You have stated that recording a weight is not practical. Yet you only provide examples that occurred in other nations. What does that have to do with the DEA, their abuse of the law, and of drugs?
