If it disabled him they could have entered and subdued him without shooting him.
I'd let someone else be the guy to go in to the house with compromised visibility to confront the guy shooting at police to see if he's disabled, or just temporarily not shooting.
TIL: "In marketing, organic salt is a term for table salt (sodium chloride, NaCl) that is without additives like iodine or anti-caking agents"
That's an even worse distorting of the original meaning of the word than organic fruits and vegetables IMO.
They do work more often than not.
Here's why I would not be in favor of police using salt rounds. It would be only a matter of time before an officer believes they are firing non-lethal ammo and kills someone in a situation where (unlike the one in question) it is clearly unjustified to do so. On the other hand, if that doesn't happen with rubber or bean bag rounds, maybe my concern is not justified.
And I’m still not sure what they didn’t just gas the guy with the happy little robot.
What do you mean, tear gas? What good would that do?
We’re simply a violent people. The good thing is we generally stay here.
Unless that winky face meant "I'm kidding, the main thing we're known for around the world is exporting violence, destabilizing other countries, and generally screwing everything up everywhere we go" then I think you need to study some modern world history.
Thus suitable for a fairly narrow range of scenarios. I would say "mentally unstable individual fleeing a burning building with guns" is not one of them.
100% organic.
I don't think there is any definition of "organic" that applies to salt.
Two things factoring into this; "Religious Upbringing". If you've been taught, through your formative years, that everything you can observe or calculate is a lie and that everything you need to pay credence to is backed only by a Big Holy Book...that's your predisposition, right there.
I would look for some research to back up that claim if I were you. I am me and I looked and found this:
"The results showed that believers and non-believers did not differ in the belief in conspiracy theories."
Totally different kind of mashup, but Splitgate essentially combines Halo and Portal, to excellent effect. I assume Microsoft has determined there's nothing they could successfully sue over.
Starlink is rolling out in what are beginning to be significant numbers.
Starlink will not be rolling out in significant numbers. They could maybe some time in the next few years serve almost a million people? That will make essentially no difference.
My assumption is that cops have access to non-lethal weaponry
That may or may not be correct. I think tasers are pretty standard, but those are quite short range. It wouldn't surprise me if that was the only less lethal option they had with them, and the person was too far away for a taser shot. I would say any SWAT team should have a variety of less lethal weapons, but I don't know that they actually do.
And that's how people end up being killed over lawn care
This situation is bad enough without exaggerating it. He was killed over shooting at police, not over lawn care. Unless you're going to make the case that he still would have been killed even he had not had or used any weapons that day.

But you just said they can be sued no matter what they do (or don't do). So "they could be sued" is not a reason or defense of anything.

I don't think anyone is disagreeing with that. What's confusing is why you were defending the school and the police for sticking up for the bully.
