Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: What I want to know is where are the artists that do support the MPAA and RIAA?
That makes no difference. If the IP address is hidden, how is the ISP going to know whether your downloading or using Netflix, especially considering that Netflix surpassed Bit Torrent for internet traffic.
"but if you can 'bog down' a 50mps connection ..."
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe they're using dark fiber, which is pretty sturdy for data transmission. It's also interesting that the wikipedia article - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_fibre - mentions how economic fiber optics is with the transmission of data doubling every nine months, which in turn leads ot lower costs for actually doing the transmitting.
This has some interesting theoretical tidbits to Google's plans which may involve SaaS (software as a service) and would package nicely with a massive cloud computing network.
I think we can all agree, Skynet should be up and running in the next decade or so.

Words of insight, though I disagree that any business is inherently "evil." They do what they must do to survive, and some companies like Google tend to do it smarter instead of sitting on their hands like TWC.
"Mr Wormald said he was told by the FBI that Dotcom "carried a device with him to delete servers around the world". Earlier evidence stated no such device was ever found"
The majority of Hollywood's efforts have resulted in how many different services?
I remember the article a while back discussing one author's problem with finding a way to watch Thor online.
The MPAA ignored the author's aggravation over there not being any way to rent the movie, but rather pointed him to Netflix which requires a subscription fee.
If they actually listened, they'd know he didn't want to pay $8 to see one movie when there already exists a way to rent online movies for half that price.
"...and not nearly enough is being done to capitalize on it."
It's the idiots claiming that this is a pirate apologist blog that completely miss each time Mike says that these labels need to do exactly this.
If that AC was smart, he'd have read the entire article and paid extra attention to the part where Gregory Head says he's excited to reveal this information so that the labels can use to to better serve their customers.
Re: Re: Re: Uh, the name is part of what they stand for
The RIAA and MPAA turned the words "Pirate" and "Piracy" into loaded language like a politician would do when he's trying to get his way. The Pirate Party is taking it and running with it, and I'm pretty sure they understood the risks of doing so.
The other thing is, bob, that if the WIPO has a valid reason for not giving observer status to the Pirate Party, they should state it or they're making themselves look scared, and that's not encouraging for the public or for creating a rapport.
"The real story is that the movie was under promoted."
I don't know how it was for anyone else, but I only ended up finding out about this movie after I looked up Kathryn Bigelow's filmography on wikipedia.

Actually bob, if people don't like it they'll invest in VPNs. Then the RIAA/MPAA can spend the next decade trying to make those illegal.

That really makes no sense. Logically if you were selling a product, why would you then turn to offer it for free?
Ohhhhh, wait I get it...you're creating an argument based on exaggerated information to make an ad hom attack on Masnick.
How very classy of you ;)
