Because the new firmware blows an eFUSE which literally and PERMANENTLY disables the hardware. And that eFUSE function is only able to be bypassed by tearing apart and altering the hardware directly.

...Where do you get your channels, that they only have 7-10 minutes of commercials?
Seriously. Commercials are nearly a third of the allotted run-time, now. a "one hour" episode useally runs ~42-43 minutes, including the credits (which on most channels, are squished and supplanted by more commercials).
Watched Kolchack this weekend, 53 minutes per episode.
Commercials have gone from 13% to nearly 30%. And that's on cable. Which costs ~$130/month, without any equipment rental fees. Which you don't get to opt out of.
... That's not drm. That's added value. When anyone and everyone has access to the same content, you have to make your version worth more than free (or, since this is a physical good we're talking about, the cost of production).
Besides, illuminated texts WAY predate the modern printing press (by ~500 years, even for the Chinese one).
You mean the part where the police obtain a warrant from a judge (using the erratic driving common to drunks as probable cause) in order to collect blood to confirm legal drunkenness?
Re: Mike again makes no distinction between "mine" and "yours"
HOW the government gets its information is the whole frikkin point of the *wait for it*
FOURTH AMENDMENT TO THE U.S. CONSTITUTION: The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
Oh, looky there! There's those damned "rights" and "restrictions" that keep on getting in the government's way.
Those pesky little things that EVERY PERSON HAS, until, and ONLY when they are convicted of a crime.

WHY DID NO ONE WARN ME?!
Every time you block advertising, you are taking money from poor content creators, who are just trying to get their rightful reimbursement for their work.
Violent video games DEFINITELY desensitize the player/viewer to scenes of video game violence.
Just because I can play a gory game (Fallout's "gibbed" behavior, anyone?) does NOT mean I can stomach even blood in real life.
Hell, I've played racing/flight sim games since I was four, going hundreds, if not a few thousand miles an hour, with not even a forehead crinkle of concern.
Recently, I had a fellow try to merge into me at forty miles per hour, and I could not get my hands to stop shaking for twenty minutes.
Why would any believer who has read his bible decry this as an attempt to play God? I only see people using their god given talents, and hard earned skills to help their fellow man.
Luke (of the Gospel according to Luke) was a doctor.
I Corinthians 3:13 : "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."
Yup. I guess we all ARE crazy, self-entitled assholes to expect the ENTIRE project to be quality controlled, including the adverts. Because, hey. You made a thing, then slapped some shitty banner ads over, so we have to look at them, right? Right?
AdBlock is intended to block just the shitty ads. So. Shitty ads = no money from ads.
Good/relevant/entertaining ads = $$$
Out of curiousity, you hate a DVR's ability to fast forward, don't you? What about the fact that a person can ignore ads in a magazine? Or are you somehow compartmentalizing your entertainment, and justifying it only when you benefit?
Just so you know, Wally, the spam comment wasn't directed at you. You can't tell without looking at the comments threaded, but G Thompsom was referring to the crappy "nice article" comment.
Also, it says, in the description you just linked that "no tool, not even CC0, can guarantee a complete relinquishment of all copyright and database rights in every jurisdiction," so... Yeah.
It's SO damn easy to put something in the public domain.

You get "flamed" because of petty stunts like THIS, where you revive an argument you lost as if it was never addressed.
As for the (now) inaccurate Technorati rating, congratulations. You have, for once in your life, correctly found a FACT. I bow to your expertise.
