Oddly, the Ransomware folks have secure support lines to help their paying customers recover their data. The high cost of running a support team is one factor pushing the scammers away from random attacks and into the business of highly targeted strikes against businesses of municipalities with deep pockets.
In one sense, it is a validation of the free market - working as intended! Market pressure forces them to uphold their promises even if the force of law can't ensure that the files will be encrypted.
Since there is no one else on my street to bring in broadband, they will have to raise their prices pretty high before I'd cancel. Can't switch, can't run my own fibre. I'd have to move...
They have a big box of tape backups, they change the tapes pretty much every day. Just can't seem to find one that got a good backup. One of these must work. Huh, guess the drive was bad.

They are only blocking it in Indonesia. So yeah, that is how that works. Site blocking and censorship mechanisms were pushed thru to control the global piracy epidemic.
Indonesia is a pretty large country, Obeying the law is the price of doing business there.

Epic is upset because he's promoting and demonstrating cheats that other people make. Really looks like they would rather silence the videos than fix the game problems.
The best answer to mass shooters with guns is more good guys with guns.
YES! And we have proof to back this up.
Texas has the most guns, and the most state executions. Both proven to reduce crime to nothing.
And all evidence shows that Texas has the lowest crime rate, lowest murder rate, and lowest amount of gun violence!! With such hard punishment, and so many good guys with guns, Texas has virtually no crime whatsoever.
I don't see what the big deal is. Copyrights only serve corporate interests.
We the People have spoken and don't support corporate censorship. Anyone that promotes strong copyright is really just shilling for large corporations.

This specifically calls out real and simulated videos. So that wouldn't cover books. CSI: Down Under would be banned however.

As much as I'd prefer to see a web without censorship, it's difficult to fault YouTube for obeying local laws. That is a thing the have to do.
