Rise above. We don't need to demean ourselves with immature and demonizing name calling. Dignify them with "copyright Maximalist" (which sounds pretty cool IMHO) and let them show their immaturity by refering to us as "Freetards." We'll be all the better for it.
Exactly. MrWilson, the song was infamous for being soooo bad.
It's hilarious that somebody thought people would pay for it. Kinda like "being hit on the head lessons."
Ixnay on the ublicpay ileshareingfay. Use the encrypted networks, ya ninnies! We got about all the campaign contributions we're gonna get, so just pretend like what we did worked, and do your pirating under the radar. Get it? Good!
And I'm sure that whistling a few bars of, "if I only had a brain" around a cop doing something obviously brainless won't get you 2 years with good behaviour under this law.
Exactly how many people need to be in jail in this country?
Long ago, another company gave away hardware to developers. The time was 2003, and the company was Microsoft. They gave away free PDA's with the .NET compact framework built-in. I recieved one, and it bought my loyalty for at least 5 years.
That was 7 years ago. And a different Microsoft. It's time for Balmer to go, and take his Windows 8 with him.
Cudos to all above who caught this shoddy reporting. May be carcinogenic, Mike. Not at least somewhat. For shame. Becomming a television star has gone to your head.
As for me, I lined my phone with 3 inches of lead. It's kind of heavy, doesn't fit in the case, and doesn't get the reception it used to, but Hey! At least I'm safe.
I seem to recall the USPTO investigating some other obvious and overbroad patents, only to declare them perfectly fine later, and adding more validity to the trolls clams. And don't forget, declaring them invalid will be the USPTO admitting a mistake. How likely do you think it is that the USPTO will find the patents invalid?
As the AC was attempting to say, this is not about TCP/IP (the protocol), this is about copyright laws, aka Intellectual Property, aka IP.
Now that we've cleared up the acronyms, do you have a relevant comment?
I'm wondering if those who run to our comments to declare "make your own!" will also complain about Dylan "profiting off the works of others," or if they'll be blinded by the (worthwhile) cultural establishment of Dylan, and come up with excuses for why his use of others' works was okay...
Actually, I find that most of these people are blinded by the amount of money that these artists make, rather than cultural establishment, i.e. "look how great Lady Gaga is! She made 20 million last year alone! Are you gonna argue with that?"
Sorry, I seem to be missing something here. Twitter is a company, not a public institution, right? They can use any name for anyone on their service. It's Twitter's call. If I was Twitter, I'd add a no-litigation clause to the terms of use, and ban anyone who broke the clause. Using the legal system to strong-arm one of my users would certainly not make me happy.
