"Maybe that's the new plan for politicians. Choose a running mate that nobody wants to see become President. Sarah Palen is prime example, as is Joe Biden." I really don't think this is new. Look back at some of the VPs we have had from the beginning.
I'm a little worried that this shows a deeper cancer. The 'spooks' and advisers may not trust Obama! They may be spoon feeding him lies to cover their tracks. They may be scared that he will turn on them when lies are exposed. He really may NOT know the true facts. Sorry to say I don't believe this much myself, but if it is true we have even more to worry about.
Does anyone else remember the show Dinosaurs by the Jim Henson? One show was when they celebrated "Refrigerator Day". The story was that the refrigerator was the backbone of dinosaur civilization. It allowed them to form a culture instead of just foraging for food all the time. Cool show, wish they would bring it back.
Are they really that clueless and incompetent? What is in these files that has both the Dems. and the Reps. going bats---t crazy. What have they been doing that's so bad that they don't want the American citizens to learn? The more they do the worse it looks on them.
Thrump would be okay with a drone attack on Snowden. That might take the sights of him. He has to worry about the target circle tattooed on top of his head, didn't you know that's why he wears a dead badger on top of his head?
I am way past all the profanity. Yes it had shock value at first, but I've heard them already. Now the f-bomb has gotten to be just as useful as hearing "like" every three words in a conversation. Like totally, I was like scratching my like ---humm--like nose. I do agree that there is too much interference in broadcast versus cable and all.
Makes me wonder about something that may or may not link to this subject. I don't think of myself as a gamer. I prefer simulatiors such as racing. But when the kids were younger I played along with them. I had been into very high speed road racing as a younger guy and had been fairly good at it. The kids were surprised when I used to beat them at the games. The focus and speedy processing of input from the racing helped me with the games. So, if you tested race drivers along side gamers how would they stack up? Would the training of the brain of the gamers and drivers prove to be comparable? I'm thinking of more extreme racers such as F-1, motorcycles, or aircraft pylon racers just to name a few.
I am of the opinion that Sony got caught out on the root-kits on their second attempt. Prior to the scandal with CDs they were attempting to kill off Bleem, a Playstation emulator. They managed to drag Bleem through the courts so long that they (Bleem) had to go out of business, even though Sony didn't win in court. The weird part was if you had bought a copy of Bleem to run in your PC. When you ran Bleem it let you load a Playstation game and run it on your PC just like it would look on the console, neat ( and a great reason to buy Sony games and stuff!). However soon after the war on Bleem started if you loaded a game produced later, your PC would suddenly be unable to run Bleem, even older titles that had worked till then! The only work around was to re-install you whole Windows OS. The early titles would work again until to tried to load a later title. If you did, you had to go back and re-install the OS AGAIN. Real effective bully tactic but not a good public relations move. I have refused to buy any Sony products, or reccomend them ever since. Till then I had been a fan and had spread the word on how "great" Sony was. I am not sure that this counted as a root-kit, but if it walks like a duck and sounds like a duck, odds are it isn't a chicken. This was about a year or so before the CD root-kit. Still got my copy of Bleem, just can't really use it. That and the fact that I only bought Xbox stuff from then on!
A lot of folks will probably not agree with me but I have long felt the 'low' speed limits increase the number of accidents! Why? It is usually set low to keep the timid drivers from getting too afraid. This is too low to demand most folks attention. They get bored and do dumb stuff just because they have the free time and attention. At higher speeds they would have to focus on the task that matters, DRIVING! Yes, higher speeds will increase the effects of an accident! That's the reason more attention will be directed to driving. Deadly crashes can and do occur at fairly low speeds, higher speeds would be dangerous still but if drivers were paying attention because they had to it would decrease total number of deaths. No, it wouldn't eliminate them all. Traffic engineers set a higher speed for their roads, but the local politicians demand lower limits to look like they are doing something to "protect' the public. As always this is code for 'getting more votes'. This 'dumbs down' the driving most folks do cause they don't have to work at it. Goes back to the old saying "Build a system even a fool can use and only a fool will use it".
Just another sign that Sony is going down hill(maybe it can come back, I used to be a fan of theirs.). I still boycott Sony because of what they did to Bleem (a PlayStation emulator to allow play on PCs). And I am wondering if they are ever going to get called to blame for their first root-kit. It wasn't first on CDs, they put it on later PlayStation games. If you put in a game issued after they took Bleem to court it put in a root-kit on your PC. It would render you PC unable to run a game under Bleem until you wiped your OS and re installed it. Older games would work again but if you loaded a later title you were back to square one. When they got caught a year or two later for CDs I thought the earlier exploit would come out. By the way Bleem wasn't found guilty, they just got lawyered to death. Too bad, they would have made me buy a lot more of Sony's stuff!
The itu is wanting to do what some of our own politicians and companies want to do. Place restrictions and controls on the internet. They should have left it alone, but they just couldn't do it (think of a wet paint sign, it was there . They couldn't not meddle.). Some of our own actions have alarmed other countries and they want to keep our gov. from controlling it. The treaties we are pushing (transpacific and such) are seen as a power grab. In some ways this is a reaction to that. It is a push back that is being use by others to gain power and control.
I tend to agree this is a ploy, but I think it might work. As to the comment from johno "you Yanks WOULD LOVE to stick the the Neard on a spit and bake Him but You dont have the power!" I think he is right. I don't really like Assange much but I think this has gotten to be a witch hunt by folks who took it personally.
We have had lots of music for decades. This isn't new, just the way to discover it. Some folks seem to get nostalgic for a golden age of great music that wasn't there. When I was growing up as a kid in the '50s-'70s we had great music. We also had a whole lot of forgettable trash music. True then, true now. The big change has been the medium. I miss the old medium, I love the new medium. Is that a contradiction? Nope, just the flow of progress.
They wouldn't need to make up a fake beer. Back while I was stationed at Hunter Army Air Field in Savannah, Ga. I purchased a case of beer from the NCO club. It actually was labeled "Beer" as the brand. I was a bit dubious but it was on sale, and i was short of funds. Strange thing, it was pretty good beer!
Sony got caught in a big flap about rootkits before but I never heard more about an earlier example. Back in the late '90s on my first PC I purchased Beem, an emulator for playing Play-station games on PCs. I used it to play the games while my kids were hogging the consoles. It worked pretty well till Sony took them to court and caused them to go out of business. Older games would still play. But if you tryed a game launched after Sony started to go after them suddenly Beem wouldn't work. Even games that had played stopped functioning until you re-installed your OS and then only with the older games. Run a newer game and you were back to re-installing the OS. I have boycotted all new Sony products since then. Before that I was pretty much a big fan-boy of Sony. May they get much sand in their swim trunks at the beach:) We just got our third new Xbox, never another Play-Station!
I'm reminded of the Seldon patents in this case. If you don't remember it it involved the automobile and Henry Ford. Seldon shook-down the auto manufacturers. Ford fought him and won. Seems till ford said no Seldon had never built even one car. When he did to prove in court that his car worked, it didn't. Oops. Maybe some of the same arguments should be brought up.
