I was surprised to read about my hometown on TD and then disappointed in Bell's. Oberon is some seriously good beer, but it is crap like this that will keep me from drinking it when I go home this summer...
There was a video floating around YouTube from almost a year ago when a young congressman was speaking during a press conference. He was discussing how strongly he felt the report from the 9/11 commission should be made public. Kept saying things about him having to stop every other page or so and just absorb what he was reading and reorganize what he thought he knew. I found the video a couple months ago and was reasonably shocked it did not get more attention. I doubt if anything rises to 9/11 being an "inside job," but it is not a huge stretch that it contained information that incriminates the Saudi's or something similar. Maybe it shows that our intelligence agencies had some sort of prior knowledge yet sat on their hands so as to not lose one of their precious channels of surveillance. Anything is possible, but to believe anything that has come from our federal government in recent history is pretty naive.
I was just thinking that this would be a great incentive to buy electric. I am already eagerly awaiting the reasonably price Tesla option. This gives me another bullet point when trying to win over the wife :)
I downloaded and started using TextSecure after my wife sent me a link to the EFF article rating different chat apps. I have since managed to convince a dozen or so of my closest contacts to start using it as well. It really is an excellent program. Very slick and clean. I just got the Android 5.0 update yesterday, which now has always-on VPN :):):)
I have been a bit of a TD evangelist at times, depending on my audience. I think the driving force behind my sharing of the site with friends and coworkers is the general content and journalistic integrity of TD. You guys have opened my eyes to some seemingly obvious concepts (hindsight!). The tone of your writing fits well and your emphasis on economic principles is something I will always try to propagate. I turn people on to TD when I see a chance that you will be able to educate and shift perspectives the same way your writing has done for me.
This is how a ton of mobile games work. Wait timers (build/training times) almost always get longer as the level of the building/troops being upgraded progresses. I hate grotesque monstrosity that EA has become, but that is the status quo in MANY games. Pocket Empires, Spartan Wars, Dragons of Atlantis, and almost any other game in related genres are the exact same way. If you upgrade buildings or train troops, expect those timers to get longer and longer.
Maybe he should have said arbitrary? The point is that data caps do little to help with data congestion. People still use most of their data during the same peak hours.
I completely agree, but isn't the best way to get rid of a bad law to enforce it? Maybe if we can get enough companies to bring ISDS claims against nations pushing for them (ISDS), then they could be persuaded otherwise? I know, this is just crazy talk.
