Re: McRib. Encore foods (catering to feed the lower-middle working class since who knows when) makes an entree that is exactly what Mac's sells.....fake "grill" marks and all. Its sits in a pool of decent BBQ sauce. 6 "rib" sections per package. So if you want something that is probably made from the most disgusting things imaginable yet you still love the tasty goodness of this miraculous meat product, you don't have to wait for Mac's seasonal offering. McRib's year 'round for ALL!
Ive been playing the Tribes: Ascend beta. Hi-Rez has done such a remarkable job of recapturing the feel and spirit of that classic game that I purchased more "classes". It feels more natural than buying a game at retail price and then paying a monthly fee for a typical MMOG.
watching the 60 minutes piece it seems that Jobs and no problem "ripping off" many of the guys who helped the company put the Apple II on the market and denied them shares when the company went public.
Its ok though since Stevie found out that Karma does sometimes come through.
A beautiful quote from Jobs:
"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."
1.) I respect anyone that doesn't mince words and speaks directly. We seem to believe that not being "mean" is more important than being candid and up front about your intentions, opinions, etc. Ellison may be supremely hate-able but you know where he stands.
2.) he does kind of have a point in the video about WB wanting a freebie while they continue to collect cash. Of course I think Ellison should have done it but I can understand why he didn't.
I can't read through 90 posts. I'm guessing because of the lawyers wording (the plaintiffs) I take it the woman did run her mouth at one point which is why she was singled out for a search?
I'm NOT condoning it at all, just trying to get an idea of what happened.
oh, and another thought- If they are going back for a second run, doesn't that imply that they are still making a profit at the $100 price point? Half a loaf is better than no loaf etc?
If they're doing another production run on a product they were going to ditch, wouldn't that tell you (the manufacturer) that the original pricing was a barrier to many folks? A large, well funded company like HP can't think of a way to monetize this thing outside of hardware price margins?
Lets go down the road you apologists so often use: Legal or not, how is this morally/ethically acceptable to any thinking person? An association reportedly created to "protect" the rights of artists are going to sue their namesake in order to unjustly enrich themselves from work they never created themselves?
You and your ilk are parasites in every sense of the word, pure and simple.
Gotta love how Law enforcement will give a million reasons why having cameras on every street corner is a good idea (and "if you've got nothing to hide.....") yet they don't seem to equate citizens filming them in a similarly positive light. Doing so looks to mean only one thing to LE, disrespect.
There is something about that robotic text-to-speech that makes glib lines exceptionally hilarious. There are much more advanced T2S apps now but they dont seem to work as well (comedic-ly speaking) as the old style.
