GoDaddy also shutdown the security email list aggregator site SecLists.org a few years back. Full details can be found at http://seclists.org/nmap-hackers/2007/2.
Ever since that incident, I refuse to use GoDaddy for anything.
Another problem with these games is inconsistencies between platforms. Last year for Christmas we bought Lego Rock Band for the Wii, along with Band Hero so that we had the instruments.
Little did I realize that Lego Rock Band for the Wii does not offer DLC, even though it is available on the other platforms.
I have done technical work for school districts and my wife is a teacher so I have a pretty good idea of how school districts work. Sadly, I doubt this will serve as a deterrent for anyone.
You are exactly right. My understanding has always been that the founding fathers did not trust the general populace to always make the best decisions, thus the creation of a Republic, not a Democracy.
That would also explain why the members of Electoral College are not required to vote for the candidate their state voted for. Potentially, this could keep poor candidates from being put into office if the Electoral College chooses someone else.
What about convicted sex offenders who are required to register with the state? I know that here in Illinois, their name and address is listed online. If this passes, couldn't they require that this information be taken down as well?
Overall, this whole idea seems pretty scary to me......
