Right? After Equifax are these breaches even stories? Everyone's PII is already available. I've accepted that and have moved on. I don't think the genie can be put back into the bottle.
I actually enjoy paying my monthly Insider subscription. I feel great knowing that I'm supporting all the great work done at Techdirt. I don't even read everyday anymore. However, the internet needs Techdirt and I'm happy to chip in every month. Keep up the good work!
As a Florida resident it feels weird and surprisingly refreshing to see my right wing junior Senator teaming up with one of the most respected liberal voices in the federal government. I can't recall another time he's ever reached across the aisle.
Thanks to the entire Techdirt team for persevering through a tough year! Your triumphs felt like our triumphs. Looking forward to some more of the best journalism on the web in 2018. Happy New Year to all!
Mike, thanks for starting this off and assembling a first rate team over the years. Keep up the good work. I think I heard about Techdirt via Slashdot about seven years ago. I've been an avid fan ever since. I bought a commemorative tee and hope a few more bucks into the pot help with all your endeavors. Thanks again!
The American democracy is clearly broken. I fear even a well coordinated effort will not be enough to overcome the current institutional dysfunction. I have left my FCC comments and called my federal representatives. I'm just not very hopeful. As my friend to the north speculates, I think the boning is on the way.
Thanks for holding on to, and sharing, your optimistic vision through both the toughening news and financial trends. I can't remember the last CwF+RtB story, but perhaps 2017 can be the year this community brainstorms on how best to apply that principle to Techdirt. As a multi-year Insider shop subscriber, I challenge all in the loyal community to join me. If you're a fan connected to this site, what better reason to buy than the well being of this outlet? Consider the $5/mo Watercooler level if you can. It's just five bucks and it would give Mike and team a bit of certainty about future revenues. I count my subscription as a most worthwhile expenditure. Cheers to all in 2017!

Well, since they copied the idea too...
It's nice to see a company behave strategically instead of emotionally. They might have been predisposed to this attitude since a similar device was featured on a Seinfeld episode in 1997.
