seriously, are you a politician or record exec? they're the only occupations i can think of where such a mix of ability at ignorance, idiocy, misdirection, and blatant lieing is an asset rather than getting you fired for incompetence.
(wow, you're pressing buttons wonderfully today. normally i make a snarky comment based on the post itself or a several paragraph ramble that fails to stay on topic that starts off being about my experience with similar stuff. today, i'm actually responding to the trollishness.
either that means you're very good at it or it means i need more sleep.)
... there's a reason why, in a lot of countries, they Don't have the power of life and death.
(for all that those at the top keep trying to change that.)
NZ, for example, no firearms come into play unless someone actually starts shooting at the cops (or something of that nature) and even then they have to report it and make a request for backup, then someone off site sends the backup... no decisions made in the heat of the moment there. (they do have body armour and such, mind.)
(entertainingly, the backup may well include AFVs with autocannons and grenade dischargers. heheh. only if the situation warrants it mind.)
Also no opportunity for a criminal to acquire a gun off the cop. (the armed cops are, from memory, armed with longer range and heavier weapons than pistols.)
'course, guncrime in general is a lot rarer when the guns available are more limited, their usage restricted and licensing mandated.
it makes armed uprising against a tyrannical government more difficult, of course, but then again, so do government owned/controlled AFVs, combat aircraft, missiles, and artillery. among other things. (and it's not like the citizens of the US actually use that right for it's intended purposes anyway.)
there's a reason why it's easier to catch thieves and con-artists for failing to file taxes on their income than on the crime they actually committed ('course, if they DO file the taxes, there's you're evidence for the crime. nice system, actually.)
but the USA is an epic example of the fail that is the two party system... fairly substantial evidence that the entire point in political parties is to undermine the democratic functions of the system. proportional representation partially counter acts this, but has it's own issues.
i dunno, given the way most republics seem to be going you'd be hard pressed to tell me 'republican' and 'common sense' have much to do with each other these days :P
'democracy' at least of the representative sort, hardly seems to be all it's cracked up to be (whatever the hell that means) either... so i don't think democrats are really any better.
well, there you go then... arrange for there to not Be a legitimate president for a while, rise up against the rest of the government and corporations in the name of the constitution, and by their own oath the military would need to follow You.
or put 'em in a situation of picking between the president and the constitution, i guess.
i mean, at this point 'enemies... domestic' pretty much covers 90% of your corporations and government, no?

i started writing a long piece with logic and maths and such.
then i realised you're either an idiot or a complete arse and would just ignore/fail to understand it either way, so you get this instead.
pffbbbbbbbbbbbbbbt!

just how stupid ARE you?
because either you actually believe what you're saying, proving you're about as intelligent as your average rock...
or you're a shill who somehow thinks this is an effective argument... proving you're about as intelligent as your average rock.
