yes, absolutely you get imposters in the pot market. Famous strain names get tossed around all over the place.
there's a lot of work being done by a lot of different groups to get something a little more standardized in place, usually based off of registered genetics. But in the end consumer protection comes down to experience and trust. If you didn't grow it, or know the grower, chances are, that chemdawg isn't.
Dotcom was having his usual Sunday rendezvous, driving around his estate in motorbikes and swimming, when a puzzled Twitter user, Ben Gracewood, asked Dotcom if he spends all day driving around and posing for pictures. “I could live like that,” Gracewood joked.
Dotcom replied, “Come over now!”
Gracewood, along with two others, lived “like that” for a few hours, at least. They went over to Dotcom’s house and tweeted for a few hours.
To prove that this bizarre experience was actually happening, Dotcom posted photos and live-tweeted the event with the hashtag #swimatkims. He tweeted the pool party was “fun” and hinted that he might hold another one in the future. (We posted a Storify created by a New Zealand magazine of the event below.)
“#swimatkims will return for everybody. Need a big public pool. Awesome DJ. Sound & lights. Who’s in?,” tweeted Dotcom. Gracewood created a website and posted on his blog about his ordeal.
“It was a mix of completely surreal and utterly mundane,” Gracewood wrote .
Your lead in makes it sound like this was a screw up by the gunseller somewhere.
but the rest of the story (and the version i saw on boing boing two days ago) make it pretty obvious that this was a garden variety shipping mix up, and that is was UPS's fault. GUn was supposed to be headed to Penn, where it would have been perfectly legal.
so yeah, the lead in felt like you had an agenda that you were trying to push at the expense of the story.
even you admit "yes they had the older stuff too".
They had tons of material that isn't really easily findable anywhere else. I agree with the above. Much respect to the demonoid admin, and may all involved in the take down get aids.
from the torrentfreak article (they actually hear from the demonoid guy once in awhile)-

it looks like the site was DDOS'd, at roughly the same time, the servers were penetrated. A few days later the ukranian police show up and confiscate the hardware.
At least they didn't get the admin.
With demonoid beta so close to going live there's probably a good chance that backups exit. Much respect to him, maybe he can work out a deal like the bay to get hosting with some political cover somewhere.
i'm using netvibes now..and i dislike it...they add an extra frame to everything so i have to click on through their one sentence "reader view" sort of thing.
I mean..at least i've still got my newsfeeds, but it's just clunkier than igoogle. bastards.
