But when "organic chemistry" originally started... chemists thought that organic chemicals were only produced by living things. So the term "organic" was confusing even from the start.... :P
Actually, I wonder why chip makers don't partner with the folks behind disposable/reusable containers like Ziplock/Gladware/etc... then you could eat the chips and then keep a re-closable container for future snacks.
There are other solvents out there besides water! How about an ethanol+dry ice slurry...? I'd think a vodka+dry ice bath wouldn't be too hard to make -- but it'd be a bit more dangerous in terms of handling it without getting frostbite.
There used to be speed-typing/texting competitions, so I wonder if/when there will ever be a speed-gesture competition for entering data the fastest.. How many words per minute can you gesture?
I don't think battery life is *just* a problem for electric cars... and it's not even clear that pure electric cars are actually that much more desirable than hybrid vehicles.
And there are various ways to wirelessly transmit power -- but it'd be tricky to do for a target that's moving at >55mph....
There are also fundamental limits to capacitors, though... so I think chemistry might be the better bet, even though we're not really satisfied with chemical battery performance.
Maybe superflywheels will trump everything....? :)
Re: Got to get away from burning dead things for energy.
"ALL cars USUALLY !!!!!!! great engligh !!"
just a minor note here... the original was "All-electric cars usually" -- meaning "all-electric" as opposed to "partial-" or "hybrid-" electric cars. (That hyphen actually has a purpose...)
There used to be a Robot Wars competition at the Fort Mason Center in San Francisco in the summers -- I think that'd be a close approximation of what bullying high school robots would look like... :P
