Sorry but I just don't really care anymore. Read it, dont read it.
I have already gone through the stages of grief when I realized this country is a far cry from what I was led to believe it was. Was I naive politically? Absolutely. Wish I still was. I would love to be a happy little sheep.
Thanks to the Pentacon releasing what was touted as footage to put to rest conspiracy theorists, and I saw it, then said to myself... "Self, that is the same footage that was already released. Why would they release it again as something to shut someone up?" (When it clearly didnt.)
From there it was all over. There was the Patriot act which was not patriotic at all. And on and on.
So I am not as passionate as I once used to be about it because, well, the fucking sheeple dont care their phone/email is tapped, dont care we torture and kidnap ppl all over the world, kill foreigners with drones, use weapons designed for war here at home, and on and fucking on. I feel like I have to throw up thinking about it.
I am going to go watch some cats and dogs on youtube.
And a good contractor will have the people skills to present that in a way that does not insult them but explained in a way that will make them understand. Not just oh well you signed a contract. There is more to it then just abiding by contracts.
Also not including them in on every step of the way to sign off on the work is not a good practice. Why wait until it is finished? Paint half of that wall the horrible color your homeowner picked out and have them look at it.
I did it for many years in areas that are very snobby. (Bala Cynwyd, Gladwyne, Ardmore. Very very rich areas of PA.
There are many times that I did work for cost to keep clients happy. Its just the cost of doing business. Sorry but I wanted my clients to tell their neighbors in their million dollar houses about me. The next time they call just tell them you cant do it.
I was lucky enough to have worked for a master plumber that had amazing people skills and really taught me a lot about customer service. Profits are second, quality and a happy customer always always always comes first. Follow that and profits will follow.
Do good work... period... end of story. If your client is not satisfied, bend over backwards to make them happy. They will be your best advertising.
Piss them off and well, you get slammed. Treat them wrong and you get what you deserve.
There is nothing more satisfying then getting a call from someone saying they called you because such and such recommended you. It is a cascading effect that can make you rich, and get you a lot of loyal clients.
Personally, i used to love to hear how bad someone was before me. Just provides the chance to shine even brighter.
Free with DRM or free without it. Well that took all of a millisecond. Free w/out DRM duh.
Ill pay for DRM free stuff.
Fuhk man, how many times do we have to tell you?
I want to be able to use my content however I damn well please. I want to play it on my laptop, desktop, Ipad, or Windows phone... whatever.

"but we're talking about insignificant amount of money anyway."
Spoken like a true politician. Sure its not YOUR money, so you consider it insignificant.
26,400 laptops - The amount of effort to track and keep licenses of 26000 new computers, on top of the ones in production is cost prohibitive. That why MS offers Enterprise licensing. Not a worry at all with open source.
Knock 50 bucks off the price of a laptop to get it with no os and thats over a million dollars.
"So, as usually happen here" (Nice engrish) So as usually happens here is some assclown thinks he/she knows a thing or 2 about something and wants to try and jab at TD.
Oh and BTW, even if they are getting the laptops at 600 bucks a shot, its still 15,840,000.
1760 servers - @ 1000 a pop = 1,760,000
17,600,000 - Yeah thats insignificant. /s Tell that to the Greek PPL.

Well please tell me what color the leprechauns and unicorns are in your universe, because here on Earth they are white and green. what you allude to is exactly why he couldn't. There was no one to trust. Except Wiki.
If we had trustworthy politicians, he could have gone to his Senator and tried that way. LOLLLOOLLOLLOOLOOL ROFLMAO. Yeah you see (hopefully) the absurdity in my suggestion there.
"but he was not charged in any way with making this decision" And any, if any, policies are put in to place to deal with that the people who were in charge of making those decisions have failed... miserably.

" it needs to be done differently."
Then please be part of the solution and enlighten us as to how you would go about that.
Everyone acts like it was WOW im going to download all this crap and turn it over. I am sure it was not. I am sure there were feelings of disgust, and betrayal as the details were exposed to him. I am sure it was not an easy decision to knowingly throw your life away to do the right thing.
He did the right thing. What disgusts me is no one has looked at what was implicated, but choose to go on a witch hunt to prosecute.

Disorderly conduct is a free pass to fish for other shit.
Anything (sitting quietly on the hood of your car) can be disorderly.
DC is used when the cop just wants to harass you and has nothing else.
