I'm suddenly reminded of an episode of StargateSG1 where they were on a fairly advanced planet with a public screen of all the government relayed info. Small problem though, you had an off switch.
Well if worse comes to worse I wonder if they'll put all of us in booths, make you drop your drawers and cough. Maybe they need to implement it at the borders as well.
The ball is already rolling in that direction. I'm was and am currently a fan of Sci-Fi's Sanctuary web-series back in '08.
One wonders what another couple years will bring.
"I'm stuck in a ice cave with Mc Gyver, build something and get me the hell out of here!" Amanda Tapping - exert from blooper real from Stargate. -geek session now over ;)
Love the spearhead on allourideas.com as well. I considered working on a project such as that a while back. Never did get it off the ground though ie forumforideas.
Makes ya wonder if you can even take a picture in front of the Whitehouse now and post it. Let alone the great architecture around most government offices that our tax dollar so widely put to good use.
... I wonder how much the city pays on a hammer and gavel these days.
"Are we at last brought to such humiliating and debasing degradation, that we cannot be trusted with arms for our defense? Where is the difference between having our arms in possession and under our direction and having them under the management of Congress? If our defense be the real object of having those arms, in whose hands can they be trusted with more propriety, or equal safety to us, as in our own hands?"
Patrick Henry
"This year will go down in history. For the first time, a civilized nation has full gun registration. Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future!"
Adolph Hitler
Chancellor, Germany, 1933
im not in favour of an outright ban, but if the government doesn't try and stand between firearms and people too dumb to be trusted with them then nobody else will.
It's comments like that that keep government in you business rather than out of it. Let Darwinism handle the "too dumb".
Side note here. Open carry ANYwhere solves the pillow problem, but hey security vs freedom right?
