Another great hit from the man who set the standard for socially aware music in the modern day. This one is particularly catchy - maybe they can get MEPs humming the tune while voting on it. :)
It's unlikely the hair would have had any DNA in any case. Most hair found at crime scenes are just parts of the shaft, but DNA is only found in the roots of hair. Hence the reliance on hair "matching" in most cases.
I love that one comedy sketch - "Use sarcasm, get the death penalty." Too bad copyright has that locked up so tight you can't even get one scene on youtube.
That's kinda the opposite of a refund... that's another bill, which they'll end up paying. You can be sure the software came with a license that basically ends up saying "for entertainment purposes only."
Didn't you see the medical report? She committed suicide. And since she was successful, there's nobody to charge with anything. If she hadn't, they could have charged her with attempted suicide.
Sadly enough, some record company exec probably thinks all that is true. A bunch of stupider, greedy con-artists I've never seen.
If the figures show us anything, it's the parasitical nature of modern media conglomerates. They earn more than half their income from a huge library of music they scammed out of desperate artists that, thanks to Mickey, will be theirs for the foreseeable future, and sold across a platform they had no hand in making or perfecting. Indeed, they hindered the platform as much as inhumanly possible in their lack of vision.
That's exactly how they got me for 4G - 3G suddenly degraded enough that I couldn't use my old 3G phone but perhaps ten percent of the time. Given they did that to force folks like me to go to 4G, this will be the game plan to force us to 5G in the next few years.
Exposing where the market is clearly unfair is very often the first step. You inform the people who then do things like protest against the unfair practices.
Actually, it does. You bypassed a technological restriction on access. Granted it's stupidly simple, but that doesn't factor into the law at all, only that you bypassed it. So you ARE breaking the law, it's now down to will you get caught, and would they bother with a small fry. You don't know the answer to either of those.
That's the way I look at it - if they can't be bothered to leave a message, I can't be bothered to talk with them. And even when they do leave a message, it's usually spam. Spectrum is really bad - they call from a different number every time they call to bug me about signing up for their streaming service.

I normally do, but still miss key words sometimes, especially if they're spelled right, but not the word I meant to use. It's very easy to read what you WANTED to write instead of what you actually wrote.
So every company will pay for a team of lawyers and judges needed to determine if a work is infringing or not? And enough to cover the thousands of posts/hours of videos/songs uploaded every day? NO ONE has that kind of money. This isn't the kind of problem where you can hire John Q Public off the street to vet uploads. They simply cannot tell whether something is or is not infringing to any degree of accuracy. And that means companies are still liable.
A lot of people don't have the tech knowledge to realize the difference between things that can run on their own, and ones that require online help. Those are the ones most often hurt by products like this. Imagine the little girl asking her mom "Why doesn't Barbie talk to me anymore?" What's her mom supposed to say? Barbie never talked to her - it was a server somewhere on the internet that went away.
