Although the idea that a private company has somehow become a government is hilarious in itself, I think I would seriously consider voting for Google if they were on the on the ballot...
Seriously - why does shouting "State Actor" make the tinfoil crowd so happy?
It's don't to placate the record companies who are on the warpath.
YouTube isn't supposed to allow downloads, per their license agreements.
The record companies have made threats because YouTube wasn't "doing something." The have now done something.
Stream Ripping is completely fair use. Of course since record companies don't recognize fair use, they'll sue anyway.
If You Tube wants to play wack-a-mole that is their option. It's shitty but it's their choice.
We The People don't want to stand by while enforce their censorship regimes via copyright. Stream Ripping enables people to re-mix, create and expand culture.
Sharing makes more of something - it isn't theft. Theft is when something is taken away. DRM, Copyright take works away from people and give them to Corporations.
Funny thing about the idea of 'criticizing the country/president is un-american',
The funniest thing about this - hands down - the pussy grabber had zero respect for the previous president, repeated lies about his birth (led the "Birther" movement) criticised his vacations (Too many, I won't do that!) and disrespected him many times.
If I call him el Cheetos the Pussy Grabber - I'm not being disrespectful! I'm speaking my mind, unlike those career politicians who are afraid to speak the truth. Current president has spent more time golfing than working. (And bills the US taxpayers millions per trip.)
So the el Cheetos fans love to shout down criticism as un american, but their leader has never respected his opponents, the sitting president, his vendors, women, minorities, or honesty.

Fair Use
Incidental sounds are fair use - something that automated filters can't distinguish. Context is important and filters have no way of evaluating this.
Corporate Copyrights trump free speech.
