Maybe the videos are for lobbyists to use to soothe the conscience of congress critters. The videos aren't lying. They're merely "optimizing" the truth. Just like they optimize your network traffic.
They're not lying. They're just not telling the truth.
They have made up their own definition of net neutrality which is the exact opposite of what it means.
To them, net neutrality is that the government will remain neutral with how they manage their networks. Including spying on customers. Selling customers' data. Lying. Throttling traffic. Over billing. Favoring certain protocols. Bogus made up fees. Favoring certain internet destinations that pay them under the table. Taxes on bogus fees. Harvesting customers' vital organs. Injecting ads into customer traffic. Not letting you cancel your service ever. Fees for processing taxes. Lying. Installing "management" and "optimization" spyware onto customer computers. Preventing a competitive market from emerging. Lying. Oh, and did I mention lying? Etc
ISPs like it when the government remains neutral and doesn't interfere with how they abuse their customers. Government remaining neutral to abuses is what they call net neutrality.
How do you think ISPs got to be one of the most hated businesses? Why do you think the US has the most expensive internet service? Why do you think the US ranks way down the list of countries with fastest internet speeds?
Don't think the first amendment can't go away. All it would take is a fascist government. All our rights could go away. They already are disappearing by inches. Our government is already dysfunctional and corrupt. And getting worse every year. And IMO it's gone too far to ever be fixed. (Not that I don't wish it were otherwise.)

Re: Re: When Google started, it was the little guy
Entrenched seems the right word. At the time, for the people who did use the internet, what was the first name you thought of when you wanted to search for something?
It wasn't Google. (AltaVista, Yahoo, . . .)
But Google did spread fast. The first I heard of it was on Slashdot. I tried it. I liked it. And the search page was just so . . . so plain. And simple.
Let municipalities build their own infrastructure along side existing infrastructure. It would be the last of the last mile infrastructure that would ever be needed.
Google started small. Against popular, entrenched search engines.
What did Google have: a better idea.
If you have a better idea, what does it take to get started on the internet? A computer, and an internet connection. If you build it, and it is better, they will come.
Isn't it the opinion of cable executives that the people cutting the cord are just losers and don't want to pay? Or something like that?
Can't the cable companies just make up for lost customers by raising the price? That is a sustainable plan that would work forever -- like printing money!
Even if some people are no longer cable customers, companies like Comcast can still be the most hated by the remaining 75% of people who still have cable.

A solution to fix this
Oh, oh, I know!
Obviously the cord cutting, if it is happening at all, must be due to "job killing, business destroying regulations".
So let's eliminate all possible regulations on cable companies so that cord cutting will stop.
Coming Soon to an executive order near you!
