...the only thing it does is pop up in my updates scanner and thus makes me come here just to see that nothing interesting was published.
It's all weekend extras (probably because people like myself were sad without Techdirt on the weekends). However, with that in mind, you can safely ignore any weekend updates.
Hey, next year, how about telling us which commentors had the most LOL and Insightful comments? That would be a more interesting list than comment volume. :)
Nah, I'm going to pretend I don't know about it, so it doesn't affect my number of postings. It would be sad to be a top five poster if I published useless, stupid comments to get there. Too close to Darryl/TAM territory for me. :P
I am apparently part of the minority that sees WikiLeaks as a criminal act.
You realize that Wikileaks is not an act, right? Do you mean running Wikileaks? If so, what crime did they break? Do you mean the release of American information? If so, what laws were broken? If you don't mean either of those, what do you mean?
I cannot support in any way leaking information that is hazardous to armed services personnel.
What information are you referring to, and in what way was it hazardous to which personnel?
I see that you're trying out the spam filter again, but you didn't put in anything resembling link, which would make it actually spammy. That's what my spam filter looks for, anyway.
There's quite a bit of speculation that both Facebook and Google likely received similar court orders (with similar gags included), and of course neither company will comment.
And of course, unless you're Glenn Beck, a refusal to deny reasonable allegations pretty much means that you're guilty of them. Shame on both Facebook and Google.
So... If your car insurance company refused to cover you in an accident, and cited more accidents than expected that month as a reason not to pay out - even though you've paid your bill every month - that's okay with you?
And if your water company shut off your water after you took a shower, leaving the rest of your family stranded, would that be okay?

I like the variation with the transplant surgeon. Kill the family-less drifter to save the five transplant patients, or let the patients die and the drifter live?
Re: An excellent addition to some fascinating articles
I agree, the Trolley Problem was interesting. I ♥ these weekend posts. :)
Also, I agree that killing the one is better than the five, in general, but what if you recognize two of the five as ravening serial killers (the other three being innocent prison guards kidnapped along with them), and the one is Mahatma Ghandi or someone similar?

Just out of curiosity, how many (or what percentage) were from Oklahoma?
Also, I'm not sure whether to be happy that I made the top ten list, or sad that I didn't make the top five. :P

You know, browse. Like, window shop. You can sneak a peek at what's available, but not try any of it on, or God forbid, wear it. You know, browse.
