Just because you can do something, doesn't mean it's a good idea. It's quite possible that you pulling down the ad will do more to further the goal taking down your website than the ad on its own ever could. Especially if your website is supposedly dedicated to and used for communication.

I'd imagine the only reason to bring this suit in the first place is to prevent reoccurrence. It may not even be the first they'd noticed. A single car is probably not worth the amount of legal costs they've already incurred in bringing this suit.
Why do I get the feeling that the real reason that they shut this program down is because there's no point in monitoring phone calls anymore since the only ones using actual phone calls are Robocallers?
Damn, what would an employee even have as options in order to not end up in jail? If they put the backdoor in, they can go to jail if the company catches them. If they refuse the order by the government they can go to jail for direct refusal. Are they legally allowed to quit their job? Or are they just literal secret slaves to the government?

Though he's not behind bars where he should be. I wouldn't put it past him to attempt some vigilante justice considering he didn't have much use for the law when he was sheriff.
And if you were really trying to weigh the efficacy of the program, you'd also need to look at any negative consequences when some one saw something and said something which then caused harm to an innocent person.
In addition to that, to prove the effectiveness of the "See something, say something" campaign, AC would have to prove that without the campaign, that the ex-marine would not have said something. Or more reasonably and at the very least, the AC would have to show that after the campaign there was an increase in the percentage of terrorist attacks that were stopped by some one saying something. But even this would only show correlation, not causation.
But that would be more than we have right now: fuck all.
Since all the previous extensions to the duration of copyright have proven disastrous to the proliferation of the public domain, the development of derivative works, and the archiving of old works, can we then revert those first before doing this?

What in the heck?
What's next? They send out a fake subpoena, and then tack on additional charges when they show up to a fake courthouse?
Mock up a fake cop car and then arrest them because they pulled over for it when it turned its lights on?
Set up a fake traffic light and then ticket people for going when the light turns green?
It's the ICE agents who should be arrested for fraud.
