How the hell is Anonymous Retired Marine a coward, or making the military look weak? (Also, how is "Kaep" not free with regards to this, or is "free now just another word that can be used kind of however anyone wants to now?)
Never mind this Anonymous rather contradicts himself, even though he has a point, which may be true or not. I have no way to evaluate that and don't care to try.
Also, replying in-thread helps, even when there aren't ten thousand anonymous cowards.
Most gateways, most of the time, are vulnerable (if lacking additional kernel modules of pure evil). Lists are kept at various websites, frequently noting how the code vulnerabilities are simply never patched. And sometimes explain how to run an exploit with almost no additional tools besides a general purpose OS.
Re: Re: Re: Is one of these things not like the other?
No, their job is getting wasted, wrecking cars, and being customers of prostitutes, among other things. Lord no, the Secret Service never harasses anyone.
The US Secret Service is most definitely a LEO, regardless under what department they now reside, although that is entirely irrelevant with regards to their name being used by a government dork in a threat, whether it sounds credible or not. Who said this Cobb bloke has to make sense with his unreasonable threats?
They have absolutely nothing informative on their website. It is entirely marketing and a tiny bit of help. Their crowdfunding page was a little more helpful.
_What does Oomi think about Privacy?
We know that privacy must be taken incredibly seriously when it concerns your home. We will always be transparent about how your data is used to help you. Our policy is that your data belongs to you and should be used to make your life better. If you have any concerns about your privacy please reach out to us and we will answer all of your questions as clearly as we can.
Does my data leave my home?
Oomi processes your data anonymously in the cloud. This allows you to control and monitor your home from anywhere in the world. It also allows your home to use our advanced intelligence algorithms to start automating your devices.
Do I need to have my data processed in the cloud?
No. We do everything to secure the privacy of your data. Still, we know that some people would prefer to avoid it all together. You are free to opt out of anonymous cloud processing at any time. Features that require cloud processing will no longer work. You may opt back in later if you choose.
Is my data secure?
To create a secure system we use 128-bit AES encryption for every communication, both the communications between devices inside of your home as well as those between your home and the cloud. We also have six additional unique security measures put in place to make sure that your system is safe. You can learn more here._
Honestly i see no reason for cloud processing in about anything, and the "new" thing seems to be "wow i want your data but i don't want to pay for all the cloud time anymore so here get this hip new edge computing device" when we don't need cloud or edge stuff anywhere. (Also, specific to the home control thing: light bulbs. There is only one reason you sell a "smart" bulb and not just a fooken socket adapter. Thanks for making more money on nothing and generating more toxic waste. Good job.)
One could at least give them back the money "held in trust" by the government, and stop violating their lands.
It's entirely stupid, but i can easily see how first nations would not give a crap about effects outside their world from the the occasional ways they can game the system to actually get something out of it.
They also have a very serious problem with disenrollment, another issue created entirely by the interface between first nations and their colonial overlords. I could see that issue easily playing into problems like this patent-immunizing scheme.
No, it's Bulwer-Lytton to blame for the "popularization" of the phrase (in a Paula Nancy Millstone Jennings sort of way), although the first noted use in prose is by Washington Irving, in a rather equally good sentence.* I don't think it was claimed to be original to Peanuts, but Charles Schultz used it several times IIRC, when Snoopy is trying to write his great American novel or whatever. I am sure that is where i first became aware of it, at age two or three, unless someone managed to use it in a television program at the time.
The thing about catchy things is, after a while, most don't know the thing from the original. (And then they will argue, incorrectly, with the next crowd, who know it from yet somewhere else, over where the thing originated. This is always a hoot. Particularly when an original source is easily discoverable.)
*Wherein Irving mocks the Harlem (but calls it famous) for being denoted as a river rather than a creek, when in fact, it is not a stream at all.
Not if they have any idea about the fates of other non-human primates launched into space. "Naruto" is somewhere that is actually very remote right now. Maybe he'd like a border wall, though.
I would yet really like to see stats on illegal searches that never make it to court and public consciousness because they absolutely nothing to charge someone with. Doubt those exist, but i am sure some amount of complaints and lawsuits are recorded somewhere.
It's a neat bit of circular reasoning that makes the drug dealer out to be a drug dealer in the first place.
Assuming this actually made any sense and the facts were as mis-puported, then the fuzz should not have had any trouble getting a warrant now, should they have?
I don't know. Considering they couldn't manage to track the suspects they were casing, or show up on time for meetings they knew about because they already had wiretaps, i can see where having to dial a phone to get a warrant might be inconvenient for them.
