I'm gonna say, much as i agree with your and points and such... the whole post does come off kinda passive-agressive and hostile.
which doesn't really line up with accepting the apology (which... i don't really think you should have done Either, if there was a valid way to actually make some headway on this nonsense from it...)
there is no better response Available to this brand of delusion.
(well, short of finding the source and Setting it on FIRE... but that's sort of outside the scope of reasonable behaviour (not to mention practicality) so we'll leave that one aside.)
even if it is, 'illegal' doesn't mean much if: A: it's not enforced, or B: the penalty is meaninglessly small compared to the benefit and available resources of the entity violating the law in question.
When it comes to corporations, both are generally true until it starts negatively affecting the chances of significant percentage of politician's chances of keeping their jobs. (and they have ways around That, too.)
err... actually, the FBI showing up at your house here would be massively more serious for all sorts of reasons. meant compared to the FBI showing up in the USA.
and yet the FBI still has time to somehow be screwing up here in NZ too...
(they're partly responsible for the taps in the exchanges, of course there's the whole megaupload thing. can't remember if the older stuff was them or the CIA. either way Someone freaked out and, in a classic case of shooting the messenger, stripped both the USA and NZ of some cheap and advanced military hardware...
seriously, the only reason that (to the best of my knowledge) US intelligence agencies aren't hated more here is that, unlike the French, they've not killed anyone (that the public know of) here yet...
but no one with a clue has any faith in their ability to not screw us over for no good reason.
(then there's NZ's equivalents... which you basically never hear of, but we do have them... it's a heck of a lot more serious if they show up than if the FBI does, that's for sure. or, at least, it's About something more serious.)
actually, old testiment God is more like 'send a guy to tell them they're doing it wrong and shall be smitten if they do not change' .... then find weird and inventive ways to kill 'em all off.
New testiment God (not that they're actually any different, but that requires caring about the theology) would be like 'hey, realise what you did was wrong, admit it, and stop doing it and you'll be fine. fail to, and when i wrap this thing up, you BURN!' (please note that there's a fair bit of evidence that this is not 'tortured for eternity' so much as 'combust and stop existing because that's a heck of a lot more merciful than spending an Eternity alive and completely separated from God. as with 90% of everything, some people disagree.)

*this really should be 'can and should', but there's no way to make that fit neatly, so it's rendered thusly instead.

that's a criminal charge, is it not? or at least very serious?
can be brought by a regular citizen, no? not just the state?
much more effective than just sueing them (if it works)
or, heck, do both, if possible.
