“I was telling [Fox host] Steve [Doocy] on the way in here, if he knew what I knew about government overreach, he’d never leave the house in the morning,” Kelly said on “Fox & Friends.”

When I first read the title, I thought what the hell is John Steele up to this time?
But this article does raise a question for all those "take down and stay down" supporters. What's going to be the recourse if somebody falsely claims to be from a big media label and demands that the content be removed from the big media company website?
The only thing the government views as "narrow exceptions" are the rights of the people. Everything else is fair game...just look at how the narrow exceptions of the FOIA are being applied.
Sounds like this will lay the framework for the next generation of porno or copyright trolls...
They could claim they were hacked, and "hack back" to install ransomware on the the target computers. Eliminates the need for those pesky collection/settlement calls and letters.
If police officers are entering and exiting a building from doors clearly viewable by the public from a public area, the officers obviously aren't that concerned about their "security." If so, they would use an entrance/exit members of the public can't see or don't have access to. If the Fourth Amendment doesn't protect the privacy of citizens in public areas, the same public areas can't be given a heightened privacy protection that only covers public servants.
Sure it can...after all, the law doesn't apply to public servants and the Constitution is something to be worked around at every opprotunity.
Well, now at least we know where copyright trolls got the idea to cut and paste their legal arguments. After all, if it works for the DOJ it should work for them.
That would be the 10th Amendment you're referring to, which states
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
I don't see the word rights mentioned anywhere in there, do you?
Since when do states have "rights"? They have powers, but not rights.
Matter of fact, the way our Constitution is set up, no government, be it local, county, state, or federal has a right to anything. They have powers enumerated to them in the Constitution that allow them to restrict rights of the people, and if it's not spelled out that they have that power then they do not have the power.
There's a certain logic there, but it does set a worrying precedent. If there's an official digital ambassador, why not have an energy ambassador for the giant oil and gas companies, and a drug ambassador for Big Pharma? And won't that kind of political apparatus provide yet more ways for already influential companies to bend and shape government policy in a country -- tipping the balance against ordinary people even further?
Shhh....you're not supposed to be giving away the plan this early.
Something is missing from this story...I didn't see any references to Disney sending out a Cease and Desist letter to the company. Eight months between the movie release and the lawsuit without a C&D from Disney? Somebody there is slacking on the job.
Their first application, in June, was rejected outright by the judge. They returned with a more narrowly drawn order in July and were rejected again. Finally, before a new judge, the order was granted, on 15 October, three weeks before election day.
Nothing like keeping at it till you get the results you want.
I wasn't trying to be funny with my post...only pointing out that it is a lot easier to tell other people to work harder than to do the hard work yourself.
The only reason people would even consider classifying either political party as critical infrastructure is because it would give the illusion to the American public that the political party is essential to the American government. God forbid people ever realize that political parties come and go, and aren't really essential to governing.
