as far as I can see it is not backed up by info I can see. But even so I hope this is true because maybe others will see the success and understand what "free" means.
Oh and they are number one and two and three here...
I do agree that if it was funding by the tax payers than it should be public property. What I was saying is that if this concert was paid for by HBO because the committee had them fund it then they do have right. Is also depends on which committee was in charge of this event.
Just found this info so I am wrong it was not a private event at all...
"2:30 p.m. - The Lincoln Memorial
President Barack Obama with the help of an all-star line-up of talent will kick off the inaugural celebration in Washington, D.C., with a free and open event at the Lincoln Memorial, between Constitution Avenue NW and Independence Avenue SW on 23rd Street.

First this was for a "private" concert not something generally open to the public so just like all private concerts they was more that likely T's & C's against any recording of it.
Second if HBO BOUGHT the rights to it they more than likely paid the cost of it so do have rights to resell it.
That said I think what Mike is objecting to is that HBO just does not realize the benefit those short bad quality clips will do to increase the value of what they paid for.
No because the SEC will just crack down on me and make me go through a million hoops before I can. And pay them a bunch of money for nothing. I have had more than 120 people ask me to manage their money and I will not because no matter how honest I am I can not go through the hoops because the SEC only looks after those that have the power.
Very true! I want something I do not have to upgrade later. I have copies of some music in 4 formats. Single record, LP, CD, and digital. I know now that I can just make a digital copy and have it.
Most people do not buy CD's. I am one of those people that back in the day of the first cds I bought a ton. I had over 1400 cd's in my collection. I have since moved to digital only. Why because I know that no matter what happens I have a copy of the music. No melting in the heat of the car or getting scratched where it will not play. I can buy it once and play it where ever. And forever. Or close to it. Why, because I have a 1 and 0 exact copy. So if this CD wears out I just burn a new one. iTunes has over $1000 dollars of my money for that reason. Infinite goods for a small fee.
I have found that the best anyone can do is understand that greed and fear rule the market. Also I am up 14% over the last 12 months. Once you understand that the crowds will always be either greedy or fearful and take that in to consideration you will understand that no one strategy will always work because the crowd does not follow an economic model (at least in the 1-5 year range). And these guys understand that because they understand the markets. A market guru is only one for the brief period when their idea is right. Don't be lazy do your own research as it is your money.
I mean would you go to Starbucks and say give me whatever you think is best? Sure maybe once and awhile but most of the time you figure out what is best for you and order that.
I actually know of a case where a vindictive ex did this to get a better settlement in a divorce. The only problem was that her friend did such a good job that the poor guy (whom I had been contracted to help prove the files were not his) was later convicted of child porn and sent to prison for 5 years. So she can't get any income from someone that can't earn any.
She installed the back door before her access to the computer was denied. Then her friend put the files on his computer after editing the meta data in the picture to make it look like he was logged on and had been to the site with the pictures and had downloaded them.
Just think about it!?! This was just average people. What could the Gov experts do?
