After all those years of the TV show "COPS", it really is mystifying how police these days can't cope with the even larger presence of cameras.
Granted, the TV show was voluntary and they were able to portray themselves in the best light possible, but these days, cameras are practically omnipresent.
You cops (the ones that don't like being filmed) out there need to realize that when you make a traffic stop, or arrive on the scene, if there's a crowd gathered, SOMEONE has a camera and is filming whether you like it or not, and there's not thing one you can do about it. Especially if it's a public place.
...extra-legally punished by anything up to murdered.
What? first.. extra-legally? umm.. what??
second.. she could be punished...up to murdered. So the DA could have her murdered? umm... what??
Yes, I know you meant something like "she could be *charged* with anything up to and including murder."
Again... what??
Are you really that daft to think that this would go unnoticed and unreported by anyone if something like that were to be considered? Do you really think the DA is that stupid to pursue something like that? That DA obviously has SOME smarts because the DA office decided to ditch this case.
If Google were smart, and I think they are, anyone complaining and wanting something taken down would be denied if giving a name such as John Doe, Jane Smith, unless conclusively proven that that is, indeed, their real name.
They're only blocking web access, but not killing the account...
This is so you still have to pay for your entire account, and probably an extra fee since they have to use a few minutes of labor to put the blockade in place.
In your opinion, they aren't factual because you apparently believe that the likes of CNN, MSNBC and the NYT are factual. That's a laugher.
I will agree with you on your last sentence. Republicn (conservative)/Democrat (liberal) are corporatist, the thing is, liberals don't admit it and claim to be for "the working man" or "the little guy."
@eejit.. umm, esplain how Fox and NYT are the same entity?
The client may be NYC, but the "sub-clients" like NYPD, NYFD, schools, etc., all want their own specifications built in.
I work for a defense contractor, and while at a military health systems helpdesk, we dealt with Army, AF, and Navy with all sorts of applications like CHCS, DMHRSi, AHLTA, CCQAS, et al. And for each application, you had to build into the software specs for each branch of service since they couldn't agree on one format.
I'm guessing the same thing is happening in NYC with all the cities agencies wanting their own personal look to it all.
This doesn't excuse SAIC from what its employees did, and they ought to be held liable. They should give back the money & provide a working system.
And on a personal note, when we lost the MHS contract to HP/SAIC due to them vastly underbidding, I was 2 days away from accepting the job with SAIC before LM offered me another position.
record all sorts of info such as IP addresses, browser histories and records of who the user interacted with.
This gives new emphasis on the L in ASL in chat rooms/IRC. If that L comes back as Denmark, and to be safe, any neighboring country (Sweden, Norway, Germany...) then I will refuse to talk to you, unless maybe you're on the Swedish Bikini Team. I might make that an exception.
