I just think it cheapens your intellectual property.
Where to go with that? I thought you sold games. And all this time I have been buying intellectual property when I thought I was buying games. Silly me.
You'd rather sell 1 100 dollar game rather than 10 20dollar games? Really?
To hell with making money as long as we dont cheapen our intellectual property. Sounds so bassakwards.
"How many legal hoops should the government jump through before you're happy?"
At least the current ones. Due process and all that.
Why don't you step forward and explain exactly how it SHOULD be done. - Id love to:
1. Suspected copyright is brought to attention of law enforcement. (Direct links to infringement)
2. Law enforcement goes to a judge with evidence of infringement. Gets injunction to shut site down.
3. Speedy trial to determine if infringement actually occurred.
No, not waiting for the MPAA boys for over a year boB. Not the way it works... boB. Love ya... boB.
We keep wondering, "Why do they hate us?" Well, maybe some people are mad because we are doing things that we would regard as unjustified and heinous acts of war if anyone dared do them to us.
"You don't think people buy Tylenol because of the brand, because of the trust, because of all of the things that went into developing it? " - More like the intensive ad campaigns and nothing to do with all of the things that went into developing it.
"You don't think that Walmart's computer systems" - After speaking with Linda M. Dillman I can 100% in full confidence tell you where open source can be used it is. And if all the other ip intensive software companies died tomorrow, the people in those firms would be quickly gobbled up by the WalMarts, Targets, etc, etc because they would have to stay in house.
"You don't think perhaps that people who work with computers every day are not in IP related jobs?"
Yes, I am, and see the true cost of IP trolls and how many lawyers we employ to defend ourselves from them.
"Almost every product in the store has a brand name."
So if all those brands disappeared, the market wouldn't replace them with other competitors products?
The food market would no longer exist?
They will still sell food, they will still need their staff.
I am lucky to live in farm country and get to shop at a huge farmers market where 75% of what they sell is made by them. The other 25% is major brands. IP has no consequence on them. http://www.shady-maple.com/

"It makes Obama looks good (to potential voters in 2012)."
I am a potential voter and saw it for what it is as I suspect most of you did as well. Running around crying cyber this and that, and then carrying out cyber espionage does more to incite anger against us. Silly silly move on our part.
"Disabling/destroying their centrifuges with a computer worm"
Dont think it will take them that long to replace and now have confirmation, if a delivery system was available to to reach us, that they know where to direct their anger. We are not the world police. (Or shouldn't be.)
"the 3rd "real" war in a dozen years"
You dont think what we did to them would justify war? Like I said if it was directed at us, the bombs would be flying.
"an unstable theocratic country having access to nuclear weapons is a bad idea." As much as I may agree, we do not have the right to tell another country what they can and cant do.
Thats why they hate us. No one likes a bully.
