Content is when people are just fine with being assraped by the Big Content and Big Music and Big Movie and Big Mac and Big Ben and Big MacHuge Strong.
Those people are content with any mistreatment that they receive. Others aren't so content.
I'm going to propose a law that says that 1 of every 6 Americans must be jailed forever based on a roll of the dice.
To get it approved, I'll concoct a survey with the following question:
1 of every 6 Americans is a horrible raporist wifebeating broadbrush piratemike that wants you to eat rat poison thinking it's your morning coffee. Do you think that's bad?
A programmer wouldn't confuse assignment and comparison operators.
Also a programmer would know that x = i++ would assign i to x, and then increase i by one, then i = x would restore i to the previous value. This is different from ++i where the increment is done before the assignment.
And the last one won't accomplish what you want, since the value of z is unrelated.
Ironically, Harlan Ellison participated quite actively in the design of the videogame based on his book I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream. He was even glad that he had the chance to flesh his characters even more in the game than he could in the book. And he lended his voice to the main EVIL computer (henceforth nicknamed "HAM"). I think he even considers the multiple-choice ending in the game the "definitive" ending.
Now, I haven't heard any quotes from him denouncing how crappy computers are or anything, but maybe I just missed it somewhere.
Re: "While online piracy is obviously bad, this is the wrong way..."
I haven't read ootb's comment, and don't intend to, but I bet it has something to do with Google and rich people, and capitalism is badwrong except when the Big Corporation sells music or movies. And something about college boys.
I wonder why always the same kind of stupid comments. The kind I'm sure he just made again right now that I didn't read.
"Most of these stupid game developers still view what they do as creating a product when what they should be doing is providing a service. One that people are willing to use."
Well, to be fair, game developers don't have to provide a service, if they're willing to use one of the services you mentioned, so they can get away with just creating a product.
However, those who do make their own DRM should focus on that instead of just "ways to make the game suck more for honest customers".

In fact, if the games are not available for their PCs, 200% of the pirates will buy consoles and the console version of the game.

Everyone figured out that "think analog" means "think horrible real-world analogy where whatever it is you're doing with your computer means crime".

Of course they support website rape by the broadbrush terrorist pirates with their $100M movies.
It's because they refuse to think analog. And Google.
