Let's be sure to check everyone's closets

I know it's always nice to pounce on a conservative, but lets be real this crap happens on both sides of the isle whether you're already rich or on the way to it. Pelosi is worth over $200m how did that happen I wonder, the Clintons....I think we all know that too and lets not forget about all of their entitle children. This is an across the board problem in politics. Who wants to take bets on just how many millions AOC ends up with (surely as a bartender she was on the path to being a millionaire). Who would have thought that one of the most lucrative careers would have been associated with a job that just spends other peoples money.

    Trustworthy..??? Really

FoxNew is terrible and laura can't trusted then I can only assume someone's been sucking too hard on the CNN and MSNBC Kool-Aid straw. Liberalism is a dangerous thing. It is comforting to see another side to the monolithic liberal media

  • Aug 15th, 2019 @ 12:25pm

    Not so fast

I would argue that laughably wrong is disingenuous when changes to algorithms but more specifically changes to filters to omit can be made by individuals with little over sight. You don't know for sure, so laughable is the absolute blind certainty that stuff like this is not happening. We live in a very toxic world politically with billions of dollars on the line (Americans money) so just about anything is possible. No-one, not even the almighty Tech Dirt knows for certain unless they can confirm they've personally done a line by line code check of Google's proprietary search engine code.

    Door Manufacturer

Hell I want the name of the door company ......Seemed to do it's job since most burglars wouldn't have that much time or resources to break in.

    Good job.....

Oh.. sorry back to the thread - Typical Police bullshit where they have license to violate any law they want in the name of retribution. Need to get me a badge too.

Its just a game....everyone plays it.

Time for a reality check. So what if the Russians bought ads, anyone can buy an ad, anyone can put up a fake news site or spin site to influence people. We have that problem now, its called ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, and CNN. They pushed biased news throughout the election supporting crooked Hilary or targeting President Trump. They are well known Liberal supporters, we've just grown used to it. Now there is FOX news which pushes back the other direction. There is all kinds of political noise on TV, the WEB, in the pulpits on Sundays, news magazines, etc. It's all part of the game and everyone plays the game on both sides of the aisle. To now cry foul because the liberals backed the wrong candidate is the pot calling the kettle black. The Dems can pay to have a fake dossier built and leaked to the press to undermine President Trump but should someone do something like that to one of them....well that's just not fair.

This whole Russian collusion on the election is a joke. Besides, what if they did...there is no law against it. There is no law that says you cannot work with a foreign government to aid your political election. Collusion sounds bad but what does that actually mean criminally that is tied to a statute on the books somewhere. If someone has that info then post a link here and let us read it.

Otherwise, its time to move on. Right now I feel like all anyone wants to do is be the hero that takes down the standing president of the United States so that the world can sit back and look at how pathetic and petty we all are.

Re: Re: Re: 10 steps to Fascism..

NO-ONE absolutely no-one is going to turn this country around in 30 days, hell 360 days. But doing the same old thing and relying on the same only shit (both sides of the political isle) isn't working. At least this is different. Whether its good or bad is yet to be determined, I'm just not going to be so quick jump on the "we're fucked" bandwagon yet, at least not until we actually are.
  • Feb 9th, 2017 @ 12:28pm

Re: Re: Re: 10 steps to Fascism..

Just getting tired of the hypocritical liberal hate. Trump wasn't my first pick, its just that Hilary was my absolute last. you guys are all so inclusive, fun loving, great folks right up until someone disagrees with your narrative.

Liberals love to hate and blame. It's beyond tiring. It's their new narrative and probably the best way to alienate the country against their party.....that strategy is affecting me. All Doom and Gloom.

Re: Re: Re: 10 steps to Fascism..

It's OK... turn the knob to CNN you'll be fine.
  • Feb 9th, 2017 @ 11:44am

    Re: 10 steps to Fascism..

What an imagination. You should be writing Harry Potter type books.

    1. Accuse new president of everything bad in the world which apparently he caused in just his first 30 days. -- check
    2. Forget about 8 years of crap from Obama and rewrite history to make him great -- check
    3. Drink the cool-aid on all of the liberal hysteria, sky is falling, "game over dude...We're fucked" propaganda -- check

Looks like we're off to a good start here. Too bad Techdirt is now heading toward leading the liberal narrative. Too bad.... it was a good site. Too much focus on beating down a president in just the first 30 days.

Re: Re: Re: Re: All in Time - Its about trust

Exactly, no-one persecuted him for being a businessman prior to being a president and I don't remember anyone telling him he had to divest of it 100%. NO-ONE has but now all of a sudden having a business and being President is a BAD thing. You should be concerned about the Presidents who are career politicians who get government paychecks that in no-way can account for the massive amount of wealth they accumulate in office. Hmmmm, I wonder how that happens. I can see where Trump gets his, I wonder where the Clintons got their millions......interesting. I guess the lecture circuit is very lucrative....when the country is for sale anyway.

Constantinople .... Really, must have missed that happening in the New York times last week. We are talking about current events right????.

Re: Re: All in Time - Its about trust

Thanks for sharing mostly anecdotes and hipocracy. Obvious liberal, I imagine Hilary selling out our country to fund her foundation was just an oversight on her part. There's someone who enriched herself through politics and you have the balls to call out Trump because he doesn't 100% divest himself from his businesses. Tell me one president has has who actually had a business prior to being elected. I guess that leaves us only career politicians available for office in your mind. I guess that's why Trump bothers you because he doesn't need bilk America to make his money like the others.

If you're sitting their professing your trust of Obama then you've lost all credibility. The man lied, manipulated, misled, etc, etc. I guess I need to get pair of those Liberal Glasses so that I too can see the world like you.

Re: Re: All in Time - Its about trust

Wrong... re-read your history dipshit. Muslims have been attacking Christians since "Day One". The crusades fought back and keep in mind you had to say "Some Centuries Ago" imagine that, it was Centuries ago. Well News flash, the muslims are blowing up people now and never stopped and have been doing it all during the Centuries when others got a clue and realized it was bad thing. How many Centuries have to go by before you can say about Muslims......probably never.

Pull your head out of the sand there is no hating going on here just COLD HARD DATA and FACTS. I know you liberal haters don't like it because its not politically correct, however no one gives a shit about PC when their families die. Statistics don't lie they're just inconvenient truths for your PC liberal loving Asshats.

All in Time - Its about trust

I don't know that I agree with everything Trump is doing, has done or is about to do. I will give him credit that he is following through with what he has promised. The problem is trust. I don't trust that previous administrations did their job. I don't trust that we have a good vetting process, I don't trust that anyone in the government has held up their end of the deal to protect us from terrorists, I don't trust that they care about anything other than to buy/ grab votes to remain in power. If he has to put the brakes on a system that is clearly out of control, with not one shred of published evidence that we are doing our due diligence to clear the refugees then so be it. He didn't BAN immigrants forever, He put a temporary hold on them until he and his team can understand exactly what is and what is not being done to screen the incoming. Now all of sudden this presents a problem with liberal media and those who would just as well invite terrorists over here to kill folks and then blame themselves for not being understanding.

Why is it that everyone and now Techdirt included, wants to jump to conclusions and Trump bash. We have a paid-for liberal media to do that we don't need anymore jumping on the band wagon. A 90 day waiting period is nothing in the grand scheme unless Americans are just dying to be in the club with out countries where Muslims are blowing themselves up in public places. Yes, I said Muslims because unfortunately, that's who is doing it. Not Christians, Not Hindus, Not budhists,......Muslims. I know the liberal media would like to distort that fact or bury their head in the sand trying to figure out how to rewrite history and spin it, but the facts are its Muslims.

I don't know about you but I am not eager to read about the numbers of people killed at a mall because a Muslim decided to blow themselves up in the name of an Archaic religion. Its bad enough we had San Bernadino and Florida shootings, let's not be so eager to embrace the suicide bombing club just quite yet.

    Re: WRONG...

There is no honor in taking one for the team especially when the system is rigged against whistle blowers. What Snowden released was pure value and we're seeing changes or more importantly increased awareness across the US for how far out of bounds our Government is willing to stray. The value is not less because he didn't subject himself to wrath of those who were caught with their hands in the cookie jar. He's a survivor and thanks to him we have a better understanding of the wickedness of those we entrust to govern us. He is a hero.... by all counts. He was smart enough to reveal what was necessary and preserve his ability to stay relevant and not get swept under the rug.

It just like the liberals who are all upset at Russia blaming them for Hilary's defeat. It's the not Russians fault that they behave the way they did and wrote the emails that they did, they just got caught. No different with Snowden, how many asshats stood up and predicted armageddon because the leak. No such disaster took place, they bent over backwards trying to denounce and deny the truth. The true turn-coats or the extreme unpatriotic are those asshats in our government that needlessly and recklessly spy on Americans in order to drink up the power.

Bravo Snowden.....for being smart about it.

Time to get rid of Revisionist Historians

I think most folks who follow Techdirt would be up for donating to the cause even if its just a few bucks. There is a lot at stake here given that one individual can use the courts to change history and ignore the facts. They say if you repeat someothing often enough and get enough others to do the same that we can change everyone's reality. Bullshit, this has to end and this guy needs to be taken to the matt. Also, I think there is an opportunity for an anti-SLAPP suit to take back all of his false winnings from other suits. We'll support you. put up a gofundme account.

    Dam Tea Sips

Leave it to a Tea Sipper to fuck up a donut shop's business. Did it ever occur to those dumb ass Horns that the shop was actually honoring them and helping their brand at the same time.

Maybe I missed the part where this guy is cutting int UT's Billion dollar donut busines......oh, sorry they don't sell Fucking donuts just half-ass sheep skins.

    Gig-em Aggies.

    Let's get started

I'm actually in the tech industry and find the claims and merits miss Feinstein has put out to be worthwhile and should definitely get traction in Congress.

I believe we should first start with the Banking industry. I can't think of a better place to start implementing a mandatory back door to encryption. We all know terrorists and pedofiles need and use money. That's a no-brainer we should move on the financial districts immediately.

Also, I want the encryption key to Feinsteins phone because I'm sure that bitch has nothing to hide, no back room deals or quid pro quo relationships in play.

    Go Ahead Level the field

Yes. Let's take the lead of the those EU Asshats. Let's level the field because Spotify pays more and therefore is disadvantaged. I think all of us would like to see a level playing field. Let's return all of the manufacturing plants erected in most of the 3rd world shit holes because they pay .50 cents an hour for labor. I'm sure there are plenty of EU companies outsourcing their shit somewhere else because its cheaper. Heaven forbid should the US get a price advantage in a market. If the EU commissioners are so concerned then they can cough up the dough and supplement all of those artists. We all know in reality that artists get screwed by everyone, the big recording agencies, record companies, digital streamers, RIAA (the ones with the largest cocks) and I'm pretty sure that includes some EU licensing grabs where the lions share of the revenue stays out of the artists pockets. Maybe just a touch of hypocrisy going here when it suits them most.

Be Careful what you ask for

I can only imagine right now what Apple engineers are cooking up in the back room for the next major IOS release. I am hoping they are huddled in a conference room with no outside access, 10 pots of coffee and 2 dozen donuts feverishly figuring out how to make an unbreakable OS and shove it up the FBI's ass.

Maybe they can call it IOS 10.0 FTNSA (Fuck the NSA).
