Thanks for this, Mike. It's tough to talk about this shit in public when every other comment is willful ignorance and blindly repeated talking points. It's easier to keep your mouth shut and keep blogging about tech. But you're right, all this "political", "emotional" stuff is fundamental to all the other issues techdirt is all about. I've been a reader on and off for about a decade now and we don't agree on absolutely everything, but I appreciate your and the other writers' commitment to thinking critically about complex issues. Keep it up.
