We connect to the internet through a rural DSL line (2.78/0.65), that’s all we get. We have Spectrum at the street but they want $22’000 to run cable from the street to the house half a mile down our driveway. I often wonder if Spectrum counts us as “being serviced” by them, in terms of their coverage. Our neighbor has the same issue except they want $9’000 from him. And here we sit with no alternatives.
Is it possible the guy is getting charged without any realistic probability of being found guilty just so the experience of it all causes him to knock it off?
Seems to me that they are opening a can of worms here, on top of gathering and assessing evidence yourself SF prosecutors now also have to review how other agencies acted, seems like that could be a lot of work IDK?
Following the suicide some assessment of bullying and reporting thereof would be very illuminating. I see what they have done and some policy and position considerations but what’s missing are metrics regarding wether the bullying situation improved in the time since the suicide during which all these efforts were made. Is what they are doing making any difference?
In my opinion S230 and the attempts at meddling therewith are all symptoms of the broken social media landscape. If SM wasn’t so toxic we wouldn’t have need for most of this. I’m just making that observation.
The toxic mess that has followed social media. Why people participate in this garbage is beyond me. Engaging on FB, Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok etc has become a super unpleasant activity and really diminishes the perceived benefits. It’s the modern equivalent of hate and propaganda leaflets dropped from the air in WWII except now your friends are sending them to you, and you are judged by the ones that land at your door.
There is one under appreciated side benefit of having very slow 5G in the US: It means that Americans are killed in fewer number and more slowly by 5G waves. The graphic shows that US Mbps (Millions of Brave People Succumbing) values are much lower than South Korea for example. I’m sure we can all get behind that.

/div>Going into DIGS
What’s new is old, we called these co-hab houses a DIGS in my day, I believe it’s possibly a WWI term from “Digging in together”.
