    Re: Let's get realer...

well said, i cannot stop laughing at the trump supporters i know on fb and IRL who spent 8 years calling him the n word, a "mooselimb" "terrorist"..etc... who are very very very offended that people arent respecting trump.....the funniest part i have gotten more then one "not racist" to say verious forms of "its not like its that nibber obama" i just rofl... now, i dont have tds, i have loathed/despised the man since the 80's and 90's when he was on talk tv alot... just always came off as such a major douchebag egotist...thats never changed....

and i find some of the shit they spew at/about trump...bloody stupid...stick to serious shit, stop using trump to distract us from the shit the govt is doing to fuck us under cover of trump....ugg...

    Re: Lets get real

not really, i would just tell my kids, "kids, thats whats called an asshole, dont be an asshole" just like the best father i have watched raise kids, a good friend of mine...whos kids are no worse for growing up around "obscene" language, hell, they have watch carlin videos for hollidays since my friend was a kid, his oldist daughers on a full ride to a private school that even covers cloths, on course for a full ride at a major uni, in a STEM field, his only problem child is the youngest and, shes like a mini-me of him...(we all love her, shes a riot, and not a bad kid, just snaky, and sarcastic, and way to bright and inquisitive..also..way to good at spotting bullshit....)

    Re: Re: Re: Re:

untrue, you should really read up on this thing trumps and clintons arent to fond of, the constitution, ;)

also, "obscenity" is very subjective, in my great grand mothers youth, it was still considered "obscene" for women to have exposed ankles/legs in much of the country... now...not so much...to most people....

hell, at least once a day i see somebody calling democrats/republicans obscene...(at least one each way, its amusing...since they both are.. ;) )

    Re: Re: Re: Re:

was once turned down for a job in favor of a guy straight out of college, got a call a week later, asking if i could come in, they may have a job for me after all....

the idiot used an idiots guide book, to "optimize" the server.....using examples that clearly stated they where just examples, and, they didnt have a backup that was less then 90days old... of anything.....

i had to get 3 old servers running and restore the backups to them....and copy the settings over (old tape backup system, it took 2 days to restore the systems....gods tape sucks...lol....)

but yeah...that was fun, i worked for them for 2 weeks, they got me whatever i asked for for lunch/dinner, and when i was done, they offered me the job rather then just the contract work to fix the fuckup...told them to get fukt i didnt want to work for people who hired somebody who, openly admitted he wasnt qualified and would rather have worked for me...before they hired him...the manager who i dealt with most of that time, said "good choice" and gave me a sealed letter that had an extra 500bucks, a bunch of gift cert books for fast food.... and a letter telling me to go to an address, and ask for a person and give them the letter....worked for that place for 3 years till the owner sold the place to a guy who was, pretty much, a used car salesman, selling networked projector/audio/lighting/etc setups and installs..we did that stuff as well as other shit, the guy was just to shady and creepy for me.....way to touchy with young girls....i got another job that was alot closer to home, paid less but had better benefits then we had after that idiot bought the place... so all in all, it worked out... and i ended up doing contract work for that other company a few more times, only because the manager who got me the job, and was brother in law to the former owner of that business asked, made good money, and always got a bonus at the end... hell once also got a bunch of servers and desktops they had replaced given to me on top of the cash bonus.... that they called a "disposal fee" turned around and got them all cleaned and setup with fresh os's, and sold or gave them away (the pos p4 desktops all got given away with vector linux installed on them...as it was the best linux option for that specific hardware...and unlike windows, was actually useable..)

bah, way to long a post, but yeah, i have seen WAY WAY WAY more issues with idiots fucking shit up, when you combine that with malice, well....its sort of the perfect storm of stupid... "never attribute to malice what can be explained by incompetence" but, i always add "but never discount that incompetence and malice are often not exclusive"

sometimes, i have also found, incompetence caused by malice... for example, the employee who hates their employer and dosnt take proper care when doing their job, and as a result costs the company money rather then generating it.

    Re: CENSORED ALL DAY MONDAY.

nice to see that ootb is still around and posting as annon...

wonder why he would do that or use tor?

anyway i have no issue paying for software that
    1. is well written
    2. is well supported
    3. works as advertised
    4. is priced reasonably

i bought for example dbpoweramp many years ago, and spoon supports his product very well, even told me he didnt give a crap if i just torrented the latest versions rather then getting him to update my lifetime key....because he KNEW i was an owner of his app, AND that because of the pirated version i tried many years ago, he had sold over 50 copies thanks to myself and people who saw me crowing about it on forums and in irc and and and....

on the other hand, i have purchased a shitload of software and games at full price, without pirating or trying them, to find, they either dont work as advertised, or arent maintained/updated, or worse, both.

just go down my steam list and you can see tons of games that i played very little despite buying them at/near or ever before launch, because of bugs.

just cause 3 is a great example, the devs admit theres a memory leak, you need at least 16gb ram (i have always had more then that) but, even with plenty of ram and a beastly system the game still runs poorly, and eventually had to be restarted because, the memory leaks lead to funnier and funnier visual bugs.

i purchased it at full price at launch, luckly was able to get money back, and then was GIVEN a copy and, to this day, it still runs poorly, and has far to many bugs.

every single elder scrolls game either by bethesda or zos has launched with beta or even alpha state quality bugs, yet i own every one since daggerfall and mostly purchased at/near or before launch....knowing they would eventually fix them or the community would. still shouldnt be paying full retail price for beta or alpha quality work...specially when then on top of it, they add DRM that adds more bugs.

the number of games back in the cd/dvd days that i had to image with blindwrite then use a virtual drive or nocd/nodvd crack on, that i fucking owned, because, the game didnt like my drive or my system for some reason.

the guys being several games i own actually patched them using cracks from megagames.....(1:1 match for one game, using a razor crack, the other was paradox crack...ones im 100% sure where patched using cracked files)

the devs of Unreal 2: XMP put out a "crack" for the installer that removed the cd check because around 1/2 the people trying to install with legit disks where being told their disk wasnt legit..

you defend drm, you defend the dmca and draconian copyright bullshit OOTB but you dont defend those of us who are harmed by it..

the last 5 times i pirated a game...it was a game i owned, but the cracked copy...actually functioned...where the steam/origin/etc copy due to drm. was unplayable....(drm servers down or the like..)

expect if you do this though that you will not be able to use that job as a ref when applying for other jobs.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Taxes owed due to underwithholding

you must understand something John, we have alot of what many call "American Libertarians" who are sort of a mix of ancap and minarchists, they view any taxation of business/the wealthy as theft and they view any sort of social saftynets/programs paid for with tax dollars as theft.

they also tend to be the ones who blame high costs 100% on regulation, and insist that without regulation and taxation businesses would do what was best for consumers thanks to "market pressure"

in reality what many of these people dream of is a return to the gilded age, back before regulation (safty, environmental, ect) they dream of a day when they could exploit the poor/working class.

I have even had them on more then a few occations explain to me how we could also fix education by removing child labor laws and putting kids to work for 3rd world sweatshop wages, and giving them the option to spend their earnings on an education or something else....though i dont know when the kids would have time to take classes seeing as its quite likely they would be working 16hrs shifts 7 days a week 365days a year....

sorry, but my view is, yes our current govt sucks but I really dont see how removing what little we have keeping corporations under at least a little control for no control is going to fix anything.

I also dont see how not taxing those with the most is in any way going to benefit society....but then again, randians/randoids (american libertarians/teatarians) dont really believe in a social contract or society, they just wana do whatever makes them happy and wealthy.....to hell with anybody else......"the virtue of selfishness" is something they believe strongly in....and the evil of altruism(both things rand wrote about...)

Wyden is one of the few in office today you could consider to be a true statesman rather then being a pure politician, rather then serving corporate interests at the expense of thi voters he tries to do whats best for his voters....i respect that.

I love the idea of even just doing this to congress, have sites filter for congress and setup pages that load saying "to get full access to this site you must pay a fee of $x per month, without this access your access to this site will be limited, pages may load slowly, you may not be able to watch streaming videos or listen to streaming audio(pod casts)

do that shit to congress, let them see what it would be like if the net went the way the major isp's want.

sorry you are incorrect, 2% profit is to high, these companies dont want any internet service to make a profit off their content, hence the feuds many of them have had with netflix over fees.

As somebody who was falsely accused of rape in highschool, let me tell you, its no joke, and it is a big deal, to this day, background checks show the arrests and charges...hard to find a decent job with that shit hanging over you....

mind shes since admitted she lied, long story but...these situations suck....i view them as the legal system raping innocent people...

fucking bullshit....total fucking bullshit infact....i can see why so many people accused of shit like this suicide...

    Re:

been there, beta testing and helping fix UI bugs, was even sent a copy of scaleform years ago(dont have it anymore) to help try and fix some resolution based issues...eventually it turned out to be easier to scrap the whole UI they had made and start over using a different method(still using scale form but dif method that didnt require resolution specific tweaks)

and yeah it can be a pain, but as you said, take a couple days, week as a side project.

most developers recycle models, animations, textures with minor changes so, really their excuse seems more like lazyness to everybody i have talked to.
