  It wasn't a partisan issue, lol. McCain was prudent to settle this thing and it resulted in a win-win: Browne didn't have to be associated with a true American hero and McCain didn't have to ultimately be held accountable for Browne lashing out in frustration and beating up another woman, a la Darryl Hannah.
