Let's not forget political stonewalling by the incumbents, and arcane telecom laws and red tape that practically kill additional parties efforts. Google Fiber tried, and was so hindered in many areas that they gave up there, and eventually abandoned even trying.
The government has a secret system, a machine that spies on you every hour of every day. I know because I built it. I designed the Machine to detect acts of terror but it sees everything. Violent crimes involving ordinary people. People like you. Crimes the government considered “irrelevant.” ... Hunted by the authorities, we work in secret. You’ll never find us. But victim or perpetrator, if your number is up, we’ll find you.

Yes, Google could come back, but then they'd be expending time and effort to create the censoring. So maybe let China do all the absurd work instead, expending time and resources. And maybe China will eventually relent as time goes by and our world advances, as they find censoring is counter-productive? Who knows./div>
Police are often over trained with persecution in mind. Arresting and charging people is part of the their job. (The justice system is not too far off from this too.) So for them, arresting people is an "everyday", easy thing. Unfortunately because it is easy for them, they often have no consideration for the difficulty and the loss of liberty for the arrestee. And sometimes they want to persecute someone to the fullest extent. (Go watch some videos about why you shouldn't submit to an interrogation with an officer without a lawyer present.) If anything, officers need to be given traing in de-escelation and compassion/empathy./div>
Microsoft should just charge a low nominal fee, that any campaign can hire. Thus they wouldn't be giving it away for free, and the only "bias" are those campaigns that don't hire them./div>
Pickup drivers who have fake testicles hanging from trailer hitches should be pulled over and fined, by the word of this law. And no doubt, in Tennessee, there's a large amount of trailer hitches with them. But I highly doubt it has happened. Definitely selectively enforced./div>
