It's much worse then this article is stating. I had bills for a 43.68/ month service range from $50-$850. Trying to trick me into paying their mystery fees. and random accounting. Still have all the bills to prove but they won't give me internet back. I've had to share with someone. Competition is better than the US. I have a choice of 2 with identical packages and caps. I'm trying to get the municipality to create an ISP and data services mainly to get some of our privacy back. They are thinking about it. ISP have tried every trick a republican think tank could come up with to screw the customers over.
What about the stuff that you did not ask for. Advertizing and so on that is taken from your data cap. What about the automatic stuff that MS has baked into windows that is always sharing information about you. It's really a game for them to charge more but not only that. It's a way for them to force you to use the ISP services that don't count against the cap.
Would you accept a cable package that limited what hours your can watch or time limit? Why is this acceptable for the internet. There is already a cap the speed. Now with Windows 10 automatically sharing your wireless with your contact list data caps are even dumber.
