Piracy hasn't hurt book sales. Those facts speak for themselves. What hurts Big 5 authors far more directly are the tiny percentages they receive from their publishers.
In the battle of litigation (Big 5) vs. innovation (Apple, Amazon, Google), the latter is going to win the war. The old ways are over. Embrace or die. I'm guessing the Big 5 executives realize this, which is why they're trying to steal as much from their authors as they can before they go under./div>
