Re X 6...hey, you can adjust the title...

    Sir,

Amen. I agree wholeheartedly with your thoughts re general phsycian egocentrism,
non-existant bedside manner, patient marginalization. I've seen it OFTEN, especially
concerning my disabled SO's (white, female, impoverished, LD and TBIs) treatment by
just about all providers she's seen in the last ten years.

The prevailing mentality seems to be related to which insurance you have...?

Got Medicare (with or without Medicaid, some folks are duals)? You're GOLDEN,
they love the heck out of you.

No gots Medicare? Ooops, sorry, no can help, go visit an ED (aka torture chambers, IMNSHO).

You'd Think empathy training would be part of pre- and post-med education, but
it appears not to be. Docs and other 'medical professionals' love their title more than
they love treating patients...they all seem to prefer quick-fixes, have very limited actual
diagnostic skills, listen to their patients only peripherally...and make sure they hit that
    15-minute timeframe to the second.

This is healthcare? IMNSHO they're all overpaid, myopic, judgemental elitists. But maybe
their parent organizations like them that way. Yeppers, that's a large part of the equation.

Net: the whole healthcare system is FUBAR.

    Disgusting.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re:prognosis poor

...sorry for your loss, get over it...

OK, well, what ever happened to the Hippocratic Oath?

or is that now the Hippocratic Suggestion?

I thought it was sposedta work like...hey, doc, I have an issue (or two), please help.
And Doc would do his/her dangest to figure out what's what and help the patient.
Doing 'nothing'...docs should not be paid for that.
    Maybe it's the current? fee-for-service paradim...actually fee-for-non-service..

    Whither medical ethics?
