Such as when the TV broadcasters were up in arms about the ability of a TiVO or other DVR skipping commercials on playback, on the belief that that was somehow violating something -- like the social contract, maybe.
Nevertheless, even today a TiVO doesn't completely skip forward, but forces you to watch blip-verts of the things being fast-forwarded through.
They’d far rather have all speech but their own suppressed, and user generated content has always been something they do because they feel they have to rather than something they want.

When people get these notifications, I expect some of them will post the charges somewhere. It'll be interesting to see the specifics and how contentious the cases become. It seems likely some of the takedowns will result in, "Oh, yeah, I guess so", a lot of "Mah Freedom!", and some "Oh, come on."
In my neighborhood, they just put a paint store basically across the street from the store of a somewhat loved semi-local brand. That seems... dubious.
They may have a point
If the example of "Florida Man" is of any indication, "Apple Man" may be indicative of something they don't want associated with the brans.
/div>Reminds me of previous iterations of this

My priors are firmly reinforced!

Different companies, to be pedantic.
/div>Transcript?
A while back there was a an inkling that transcripts were soon to be available.
Is that happening yet? I don't see a visible link anywhere.

/div>Works for me!
I saw one yesterday that claimed 85% of men who take ivermectin become sterile.
True or not, I'd like that to go wildly viral.
/div>That site looks scrapable
I leave it to someone with more time than me to explore the NYPD link
https://nypdonline.org/link/2
and see how hard it is to go to the "disciplnary history" tab of the popup for each and every office and scrape any data.
/div>Eagerly looking forward to the first examples of notification

/div>Re:
What is the antitrust violation in this? I don't see where they conspired with competitors.
We might like it to be a violation of the law, but I'm not clear it is anything beyond rent-seeking asshattery.
/div>Please stop saying "The says" when it is some columnist
Just because they published the opinion doesn't make it the view of the editorial board or the news department.
I just hate this kind of headline.
Fair to complain about giving somebody space, but ascribing the views to the outlet is just incorrect and inflammatory.
/div>Please stop saying 'The [outlet] says' when it is a column
It's not the view of the outlet, it's the view of the person that wrote it.
Fair to complain about giving them space, but it's inflammatory to ascribe the opinions to the outlet itself.
I just hate that.
