maybe you should re-read the article... as stated re: The Economist article... "Most of the article is about TV piracy". It's not just about newspaper pirates.../div>
good gosh... hello, TechDirt, welcome to the 21st century... unless you're in cave watching tv via antenna, you pay for cable or satellite service, thus, you pay to watch sound-bite network news. Except for the Washington Compost, LA Times and NYT, every other news rag depends on advertising, not subscriptions for revenue. So, quit this sense-less rhetoric re: news pirates.../div>
fact... AT&T has the worst cell phone coverage of all the service providers... proof positive, even notice the infamous 3G map they displayed in tv commercials; they compared themselves to Verizon in 3G availability... the real noticable diff in the tv commercial was overall coverage, gapping white spots for AT&T.
And now, at least via this article, AT&T has data handling issues with iPhone... glad I have a Droid... I live in smalltown America, dropped AT&T becasue of limited service, Verizon saved-the-day... even in the most remote areas, I get at least 3-bars... AT&T stinks./div>
totally correct... what a concept... it's basic 101 Capitalism, and fortunatly Microsoft is a day late and a dollar short, thus, missed the moblie craze... go Apple./div>
"need" a tv is incorrect... "want" a tv is more correct. "need" implies worth; since tv is totally worthless, no one even wants one...example, GE's dumping NBC, and the buyer is part of the declining industry - Comcast. The wireless phone has won the game, good bye tv.../div>
and it applies to climate data... most data came from a UN study which is always suspect... as we have now learned there an equal number of noted scientists that state: global warming is a hoax/div>
Warren Buffett, mister broadband... he bought Burlington Northern for right-of-way... his investment in Level 3 Communications, one of the largest broadband providers, just sky-rocketed... Level 3's angle is laying fiber along rail-lines, add B.Northern to the equation... it's huge, enormous.../div>
It didn't take a filmmaker to deliver bogus reports for fact checking... the newspaper industry will print anything; they rarely fact check. Especially true when it's an article we-the-reader know the subject, and often say... that's not how it happened, it isn't the truth... thus, the reason the print and tv media deliver sound-bites/div>
geez... how come no one uses their brain... oh, no we must have gov't oversight... if you don't trust your doc, get a 2nd opinion, or find a new doc... if the treatment/medication sounds too good to be true; it probably is...
Get a life, look in the mirror... gov't oversight ain't the answer.../div>
what is it with you people... running a redlight is violation, and a very dangerous one... very serious accidents and deaths occur due idiots trying shave a minute from their frivolous schedule, while off course, talking on the cell phone... so, you idiots use legal hogwash to get-out of the dangerous violation... pay your fine, and pay attention... next time you run a redlight you might be killed... idiots/div>
