  ... yet, I'm not particularly fond of artists having to peddle stuff to make a living. Their choice, but I respect a bit more those artists who actually refuse to have their work used for ads, like Tom Waits.

  I wouldn't be surprised if their articles stepped over the defamation line putting the school at a risk of being targeted by lawsuits, and more importantly invading the privacy and potentially ruining things for fellow students.

  You've just been paying too much attention to Lily Allen. Too many articles recently... it's no surprise it's interpreted as bullying by some: you can delude yourself expecting everybody to read your whole posts and understand your actions and position by logic and reason, but that's not the way it works with people in general.
  
  Lily Allen is just, by chance, acting as a spokesman of sorts for the industry... but were she to change her position some other artist would take up where she left off. The industry won't change its position anytime soon.
  
  ... You shouldn't give that much attention to her just because she is somewhat acknowledging your site and posts. The real fight is much bigger than this and it won't be fought through blogs.

  First of all, EJ's "anti-internet tirade" wasn't about P2P but rather about the fact that musicians not meeting face to face would have a bad effect on music.
  
  Next, if you check the linked article with EJ's supposedly attack on the internet banning proposal you'll see that it wasn't EJ himself that spoke against the measure, but rather an organization that represents him and many other artists... so it's likely that the organization's views don't necessarily represent his own.
  
  I see no contradiction. EJ's opinion seems mostly inconsequential and not likely to affect policy, and this article does nothing to bring intelligence to the debate.

  I'm with you. I'm not saying that her kids should keep receiving royalties many years after her death and that she should use the law to squash kids drawing the mascot in the cover of the student newspaper... but she should get some extra compensation for her work, since it'll probably be used to make money (either directly, as in merchandise, or indirectly, as in good spirits).

  Scambaiting

  on Washington Post Says Economy Is Bad... No, Good... No, Bad For Nigerian 419 Scammers
  I'm very skeptical about scambaiting. When you start reading their stories you realize that most of them are probably fake (some are CLEARLY fake), and that they have a very very racist side. It seems they're mostly stories about showing "how stupid nigerians are" written just for kicks.
  
  ... Then you start questioning if any scambaiting story is actually real.
