A culture shift can be more effective than laws and law enforcement. Just look at cigarettes. Yes, there have been laws, but they've been accompanied by educational campaigns that led a reversal in how cigarettes are viewed in our society./div>
Just like unemployment numbers, the total subscriber numbers can be a bit misleading. Several years ago, I cut the cord... sortof. In my research I found that continuing to pay for the cheapest level of TV service made my internet more than that much cheaper. They're basically paying me to allow them to tally me as a "Pay-TV Subscriber". I'm happy with this arrangement./div>
I just want to address one minor part of this atrocious story. You said, "...Chief of Police Jeffrey Beahen... publicly called Sagehorn a felon." And follow it up with this quote: "He said a teacher having a relationship with a student is a felony, so implying such was not taken lightly." This quote asserts that sexual contact between teacher and student is a felony on the part of the teacher. This does not imply that Sagehorn is a felon. But, if this quote is not meant as evidence of your claim, then I rescind my comment./div>
That was a bit of a contradiction. "Why should they care if the world is watching?" followed by "If things are this bad already, I shudder to think of how bad they would be [if they didn't have to worry about what they were doing going public]." I think your first point just needs to be modified to say their level of abusive behavior corresponds with how little accountability they have. With all the people going on about doing "whatever it takes" to keep [white] people safe, accountability for anything less than mass murder is minimal, even with all eyes on them./div>
